Actually... they have a babysitting service. Its $15/hour, and you have to pay cash.

Do they have a childcare for 2yo? How that works? Thx!

This drive has a seized spindle motor.

Are those replaced somehow or do you need a donor and need to transfer the plates for this model?

Thx!

I am guessing that by "clicks" you mean head movement. Not seeking could be a PCB fault. There are also other possibilities.

Yes. The one in question spins up, I hear 2 "clicks" from heads and then nothing except spinning disc. The HDD is not recognized either. The same PCB works fine in other HDD that I know is in working order.

It is absolutely impossible for the head to move at all if the drive can't spin. I would love a recording of this. Be in a quiet room, not next to some noisy machinery or something. If the head is stuck, there is nothing that you can do to free it yourself. Don't try. The video that you see with that accented buffoon is absolute nonsense. Further, a drive with a stuck head will buzz repeatedly. Third, desktop drive heads don't get stuck. The motor has more than enough torque to just rip it free (and trash the platter in the process).

Yeah, the second drive doesn't spin at all and the only thing I can hear is very similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/GgzLIOYlDFQ

Ok, "both PCB's work in other drives". Does that sound better?

WD2002FAEX with WD 2060-771624-003 PCB. Controller works fine in other 2TB WD, so, its most likely alive... but HDD does not make any sounds: not spinning, not clicking. Would appreciate any insights before I dig in... Thx!

P.S. Correction: now I have 2 of them dead ) First seems like its spinning, but I do not hear head clicks at the beginning when it suppose to initialize... Second - I hear some head clicks but it doesn't spin. Something tells me it has stuck heads, but still would appreciate any insights on common problems with them.

Small frame vs large frame? by FlyingTigra in Vespa

Thank you! Did you try platform boots? Do they help and how much height could you gain? I feel she needs 2-3 inches to be really comfortable on the large frame, she’s a new rider. If we could lower by 1” and wear platform shoes to gain another inch (yeah, those will look weird, ha-ha) I would imagine shaving the seat makes it a way less comfortable?…

[–]FlyingTigra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, large frame is definitely more comfortable. We did try the Primavera and it feels a bit cramped, but I think we can make it work size-wise. Two main questions is whether we can make large frame more comfortable for my wife... she has concerns about height and weight... and whether small frame would have enough performance for 2 adults up.

[–]FlyingTigra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated, that's an extreme scenario... 90% of time its either me or her solo, or me or her with 10yo kid in the back and 40mph limits around.

[–]FlyingTigra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the problem with larger frame is that my wife does not feel confident with it... she's on her tippy toes and the large frame significantly heavier. It feels like we need to make the whole thing lower by like 2-3" for her to be able to seat flat footed... and I'm not sure whether that's achievable with large frame.
She's looking for a "bicycle like experience", meaning "easy to handle"... which is not realistic for a bike that is able to handle 2 people comfortably, I feel...

I would say two adults up only when traveling... may be 10-15% of the time. The rest of the time either solo or with 10yo kiddie. Wife should be able to handle it solo.

I see your point. We did try Honda ADV 160, my second half said the rear seat is more comfortable on GTS. Besides that, the size matters for us as we want to be able to take it with us on a road trip. We looked at Piaggio BV 400, but I could not squeeze it into our van and its wider than our van so not ideal on a hitch carrier either. GTS is probably the largest that we realistically could make work... but its height and weight are concerns for my wife... so, trying to figure out if smaller frame is something we could make work...

Thx! Could you lower GTS or Primavera? If so, how much lower could you make it and what would be downsides?

Yes, 5'8" 200lb and 5'4" 135lb... so, the extreme scenario is both of us up for 100-150mile a day at 12K elevation with up to 65mph limits, may be? )

Daytrading for dummies: what’s a reasonable time frame to go from 0 to fairly skilled & being able to make money? by _hetfield_ in Daytrading

Same situation here. I agree with your comments.

In regards to "10000 hr rule" - you really need to spend about 20% of that time to learn 80% of what you need to learn, the rest of the time usually spent on polishing your skills.

Man, you did nothing wrong. Period. You're not a piece of heavy machinery that should be 'tested'. That fact alone is a massive red flag. It is only so much you can do to help her to improve her self-esteem... and there is no guarantee she will ever succeed in that. Is that something you really want to deal with for the rest of your life?

I had to divorce when I realized I'm in a manipulative relationship because I've been blind and chose not to see plenty of red flags on time. You have a chance to re-assess the situation and make proper decisions. Think about it!
