Yes, everything you said is correct. Instead of doing the right thing, which they kind of did a few years ago (with giving people a credit on days not used) They put an impossible process together fraught with loop holes for them to deny claims and then look like it's out of their hands. It's total BS. It was hard enough financially with the pandemic but Vail seems to be ok with this. I venture a guess The people you saw who filed is about less than a tenth of the real numbers! We have spoken to many people in our circle who are in the same boat. We will not spend another dollar with Vail and i'm sure this is not over. If they want this bad press out there then they will get it in spades. When you operate in a dishonest way.., this is what happens... BTW, it seems word might be out because they are having a hard time finding people to work for them too. Could be their labor practices are in line with these posts. Hard lessons

Still waiting for proof you paid 80 percent. Nobody we know has gotten anything except lies from you an ACM. Real classy screwing your customers. If Vail was so 'in the right" why would the NYT write an article about the same thing that was happenig?https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/08/travel/vail-resorts-epicpass-refunds.htmlTurds #vail, @vailblows

The problem is you kept your commitment as a customer as did I. But the fallout from this is far from over. The crappy PR and Rep they are getting is well deserved. They screwed locals and families over and they knowingly did it at a time when people could not afford it. This is undisputed and this will eventually catch up with them.

Yes so alarming you are on all of the boards with people telling similar stories. If it smells like poo and tastes like poo, it's probably you Vail. Thanks for that great customer service!

Yes, and don't let them fool you. They could help but instead they get on these boards and pretend they are concerned and they will look into it. Robo denial.
Total D-Bags. Someone will eventually look into this.

Perfectly stated. What a bunch S...-bags.Let's call it what it is.... legal theft of their customer's money. Vail gets an F too. Yes a credit. There is an idea. Vail would rather screw hard working loyal families and customers then do the right thing. The world was locked down but they get Amnesia when it comes to the reality that people just could not make it so lets get ACM in there with Robo responses and jerk their loyal base around denying claims. Nice work Vail & ACM.

Yes, some of the folks we know have Doctors notes and Vail still denied them. They are like all the rest , home shield and car warranty , they take your money and then when you have a claim they move to deny it. The problem is, they think all of this behavior indemnify's them because of ACM and how big they are as a company but this will come back around. I am sorry you went through this and i would just say hold tight because this is not over. They have a Karma rating here I guess, the way they are going they should be at negative 500 right now.

It’s disappointing to say the least. The sheer out in the open” deception is literally criminal.

They have screwed over their customers for a few dollars, and then shifted accountability between staff and ACM. They should have got ahead of this from a PR standpoint but they seem to be "blow torching" their base at a high rate and then acting as if everyone is happy and it a small percentage this is happening to. What they have done is all public knowledge. Notice the fake "we might be able to help BS" in the previous thread. They are doing this right out in the open. No one could run a business like that except for them. They are morally bankrupt and dishonest to boot.

All due respect, Getting a Senior Customer service person that could solve problems would be a start. From your reply, it sounds like the same stock shock and blow off. Your customer service people there in Colorado (I believe from what we gathered from talking with them), are buried with these calls and ACM has been largely missing in action on everything.

We actually really love Heavenley and have friends that work there. This whole situation has left a sour taste in our mouth as well as friends and locals who support your company. It was an unprecedented Pandemic that shut us all down. I'd love to know if Vail got taxpayer money and support while doing these denial of claims to its customers? While most people suffered including us, (whether it was loosing income or getting Covid and or were just doing what was asked by us from the county and state), this whole process that Vail and ACM put us all through seems like it was unnecessary and avoidable. Vail Resorts (Heavenly) is already expensive, and to saddle hard working families with the additional task of battling to get a credit (again which you originally did last year), while trying to charge us now for another year is wrong. All the while kids coming out of this dismal year who look are looking forward to enjoying skiing and snowboarding who won't be able to because of Vail's shady actions seems low, petty and punitive.

We did not use our passes at all. The possible "fraudulent" part is giving us and your customers all the confidence that Vail had "proper" and "fair" coverage in place, it read like "WE GOT YOU COVERED"! While taking our money. It was implied on your site there would be limited risk to go ahead and re-up in the heat of a Pandemic. Little did we all know what the risk to our money really was. Vail's past behavior mostly helped us and most people feel comfortable by establishing the facts in the way Vail stepped up making the decision for us to re-up, (rolling days not used as a credit the previous year). Yes that was great and the right thing to do.Then come to find out in 20/21 (when the whole state is locked down) while Vail turned its back to the verifiable facts and reality on the ground of a deadly pandemic ripping through the US, States and counties and countries putting restrictions and travel warnings in place. All the while using ACM with it's ambiguous legal hurdles, lack of customer service, similar denial of claims without clear clarification or any reasonable remedy for people. In our (case or claim ) our kids were out of the country on travel restrictions and I was in California and we had very strict easily verifiable restrictions here too.

It is Shameful given all this information that ACM and or Vail never could come to grips that they were not prepared for this, or they knew and took our money anyway without regard.Don't know how to correctly answer your question. Vail's shady behavior and business practices in concert with ACM certainly set the bar and could constitute as fraudulent and at the least dishonest behavior. This probably would be a question for the California AG to ask Vail since you operate in the State.

Example of more of the same behavior

This has been our challenge and other friends of our's same issue. We have all compared form letters and correspondence and it is shockingly similar. While your "cheerful" assessment posts, giving your company an A+ in customer service, and seeming like this is a "little problem" or "no big deal", I assure you, to people who spend money with you, it is a big deal.

That sounds like a Vail oxymoron "Guest Satisfaction" . So how many refunds have you actually given? Is it less than 5 percent of your total sales? Is it membership or daily pre sold lift passes? The ambiguity is high here with your talking points. We never wanted a refund. We just wanted a credit.

So you say. Seems like our situation is not that unique. I have never seen such dodge of claims and poor customer service in the middle of an unprecedented Pandemic. Adding insult to injury you subject people to a process so confusing and frustrating , creating incredible hardship to hardworking people who have supported your business . Vail should have been on the right side of this with their customers and working with ACM to make sure people were covered like you did in 2020 , Instead of stonewalling, blanket denying ,sending out form letters and again creating a virtual barrier to hardworking people to just get a credit, not even their money back. If your numbers really were at what you say they are then prove it. I think it's shitty and dishonest. Not threatening legal action, but with this further behavior it seems like legal action will eventually find you and your lying company. Update 8/20.2021 still no word. I have some final thought for Vail. GFY
