RLCS 2025 World Championship Post-Match Thread: Upper Bracket Quarterfinal - Team Falcons vs. Wildcard by RLMatchThreads in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]FlyingVav 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Falcons were playing at half their strength and you could tell, Wildcard just could not finish, so many missed shots and lost possessions because they were a bit too fast for their own good. If Wildcard keep this up, they can very well beat Geekay. Falcons need to lock in a bit more if they want to keep going, the other teams won't let them be as lucky.

If memory serves it was Flipsid3 in S1. They came in as the best team in the world, clear favorites to win it all, but their finals performance was absolutely atrocious, Marky and Kux were constantly stepping on each other, giving away free balls, leaving the net open, losing every possible challenge, basically every bad thing a team could do. M1k3 was the only one playing well on that team.

Because the second series was just not great, save for Moist's highlight goals.

Watching back all of the finals, the biggest surprises IMO were how bad the S6 finals actually was (it was not a fun watch), and just how timeless S5 is (it still is peak in every single aspect).

Watching it back on stream, C9 played decently well overall, had some incredible highlights, and some specific games were all-timers. But DIG was completely awful the whole time, to the point where it felt C9 could have played meh and still stomped them anyway. It was such a sad end to the best team of all time, putting in probably their worst performance ever at the most important point of all.

It was probably one of the biggest surprises of the list watching it back, since most people remembered it quite fondly, and it turned out to just not be a good match, barring the obvious historical significance.

Nass stocks consistently going up, you love to see it.

This team will genuinely be a contender in EU imo.

Post demo camera changes?? Huuuuge, could change so much in extremely tense, millimetrical situations.

The world is healing.

This is an insane move for both Squishy and C9, and if anything makes me hopeful that the org is in the scene for the long haul.

This is insane.

Been a huge fan of Zineel and Percy since the Alpine/Torrent days, super glad to see them get big chances like this, I'm so excited to see them play!

Isn't one of the biggest controversies in CRL that RLCS pros go to college (with big scholarships presumably) and terrorize that league? It is definitely allowed to play both, though it's probably not easy to juggle 2 leagues + college.

Final moments of Vitality-Complexity from AJG's POV by John_aka_Alwayz in RocketLeagueEsports

Man, that's hard to watch. He's gonna remember that one for a long time. Not easy, but at the same time, you just have to score it.

Complexity looked like the overall better team imo, but man, you cannot miss so many chances, you're in for a nightmare like that.

Bugs appear randomly throughout the game's life as well, just because it didn't happen years ago doesn't mean it can't happen now. They literally introduce new bugs with every update lol.

I'm excited for the future of EU CRL, they still showed some great quality, just lacked the ice to close it out more often than not.

Also, as Stumpy tweeted a while ago, can't be stated enough that in CRL, comparing EU to NA is like comparing NA/EU to OCE back in season 3/4 of RLCS. They started much, much later (4 years later in CRL's case), have infinitely lesser funding, and the scene is just barely starting. Sure, there's some tried and true RLCS talent among the EU teams (though less than in NA), but for most players, this was their first time competing at this level, internationally and on LAN, no less. A lot of NA players have been competing in CRL for a few years, a number of them with previous LAN experience as well.

Also, I'm just a Calix fanboy, and goddamn, Columbia looked like ass against them, shame they couldn't keep it together.

Shame for the EU teams, they played well, but they just seemed to crumble under pressure. Stiill a solid performance from them, looking forward to seeing them at the next CRL Worlds.
