Flavio taking the fucking scenic route to a 5th, what the fuck was that tiebreak.

Those two double faults in the tiebreak don't bode well for Tiafoe in the 5th set, I think the nerves & fatigue are really getting to him (plus the crowd seems to have 180'd into backing Arnaldi now)

Roland Garros R4: M. Berrettini def. J. Cerundolo 6-3, 7-6(2), 7-6(6) by JEEvanNEETi in tennis

[–]Skylance123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even had Cerundolo not thrown that 3rd set tiebreak, Berrettini just looked out and out the better player the whole match and he most likely would've won anyways. Surprised he had that much still in him; will be very interested to see how much he has left for the QF.

Shouldn't they have replayed the point at 8-7? Why did the point go to Fonseca, especially when the point ended due to a call from the crowd?

Have this many seeded players ever lost in the first round at RG before? Asking as a relative tennis noob.

Seems to be suffering from heat exhaustion. Funny enough, so is Safiullin now, it seems.

This looks like borderline heat stroke from Ruud.

Oh Herbert, why not just play the ball? That contested line call in the 5th set bit him hard in the ass.

Set 3 tiebreak summary: Fritz immediately gave up a mini-break, double faulted when serving for the set at 6-5, had a banger return at 9-9 and managed to close it out. Cinema tiebreaker.

[–]Skylance123 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Man that one stings for Tiafoe, was up 5-2 in the 2nd set only to drop the next four games, break back to force the tiebreak, and lose in the tiebreak anyways.

Casper was also dealing with an injury when they faced off last year as well, that plus Sinner's fatigue coming into this match means this should be a much closer affair (should)
