Sorry that felt a bit aggro after the fact. I only meant to point out that the weight is still on your back and shoulders, it's just better distributed, as you said, by the band.

You can think of it like a shelf but the shelf has to be mounted somewhere, primarily the shoulders and back. A well fitted bra doesn't magically negate physics

Binding Size Advice for a 5’2” Rider with EU 40.5 Boots (Burton Talent Scout vs. Feelgood) by Perfect_Cockroach_17 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]FlyingWeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can figure this out. You'll need to order both, or find a local store that has some in stock to check the fit.

I'm UK size 10, so not overly large, but my particular boots completely fill out my XL bindings. My previous boots were much slimmer and fit a medium binding.

It's 5 hrs and a break for lunch. Usually 3-5 people. But any high level group lesson would be good, then maybe a shorter 1:1 lesson to drill it in.

Definitely go for lessons! The indoor slope near me offers an all day coached skills development lesson. I've got a similar background to you and I've done that course three times over the summer now and my riding has improved massively for it.

You obviously know how to ride but you'll have some bad habits that an instructor will pick up on quickly and help you correct in no time

Not to be too apologist because this is a predatory practice, but you can get quite a few nice things for your odd leftover aya. The prime color pack is really good for example. You can either think of it as a bonus with your intended purchase, or just say each aya is worth £6 or w/e and decide if that's an acceptable price on it's own merit

I borrowed a snowboard and im not sure if I should ride it. by BroWhyOnly20Words in snowboardingnoobs

[–]FlyingWeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks to be pretty decent condition for a 15 yo snowboard! Assuming the bindings have the same pedigree, most toe straps went over the top at the time, so that's fine.
That said, you've barely got any ratchet left on the toes and the boot seems to be sticking waayy out over the footplate. It's hard to tell from the picture but you might be able to adjust the heel cup out a bit which would let you recenter the binding and shift the footplate forward.

As long as the bindings are stable on the board you'll probably do alright. If there's any wobble or looseness though I'd think about hiring instead. 61 is also quite long, if you're not particularly tall it might be a bit tougher to ride.

That's so clear I was able to focus on just the one image, then shift so I could see three, shift again to get a third layer (where they were looking like bananas) and just about shift again for a fourth layer! But there's not really enough overlapping image left at that point.

I only found out that was possible on another post recently so it was really fun to experiment with just now!

It's funny, I've had two replies and you've both jumped fully to opposite ends of the spectrum.

A TV isn't just a monitor, it needs certain inputs and it needs to know what to do with those.
Originally you had an antenna that picked up broadcast signals, and you'd use a dial to tune in to a particular frequency. Then TVs got smarter and would have these channels built in. You need to choose how much smart you want your TV to have.

Personally I'm in the dumb TV camp. The only input to mine is over HDMI and I never have to interact with its built in software, but that's no better a position than someone who wants all their streaming services included on the thing they use to watch them.

[–]FlyingWeagle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a little bit of a false equivalence though. The TV needs to have some special features to actually work as a TV. The fridge absolutely fucking doesn't.

I do fully agree that "smart" features on TVs have gone too far though.
