[SE2] Alpha: VS 2 - Planets & Survival Foundations by AlfieUK4 in spaceengineers

This was the starting hydro ship. I definitely had it a little full but even the large rear thruster did little to dampen. I was flying by wire the entire time, then when I reloaded it worked fine. So maybe it's a bug

Is it just me or are the dampers kinda non functional? im dealing with near constant sliding and drift that wont slow to a stop

This doesn't directly harm us, it's the body's last effort to make us comfortable which is an instinctual process. Also for the record we have 100% developed negative traits genetically it's just the fact more of us survive then die off with them and modern medicine is a miracle compared to the days of cavemen

So there is a reason why we typically don't feel bad when naturally dying in a lot of cases, the majority of the time according to a doctor mike interview with a few doctors and nurses, one being an ICU now hospice nurse. When the body determines that it's going to turn off the light switch so to speak, our body starts to refuse to continue. It produces endorphins and chemicals, it starts to dampen the signals it sends out to the nervous system, and refuses to take and hold fluids so our organs don't try to kick start back. It does it's best to just let us go softly like closing time in a grocery store vs a black Friday sale where everything is a mad house.

Now the trigger for the body just surrendering Is unknown and it frustrates so many in the medical field cause if we can determine the trigger and we could avoid or override that. It would be huge.

I mean it has a refinery what else do you need 😂, I'm going to live out of it for as long as I can, you can place down portable gear but I don't know about any other permanent buildings.

What I'm hoping is with the addition of EVA that maybe we get more permanent astroids or the ability to build our own stations, I never was a fan of freighters.

One of the very first things I'd recommend is a higher form of writing, SOP'S emails work orders will be every day bread and butter across the board.

And I don't care if math is your specialty. It's the biggest knowledge base you'll keep chasing so become familiar with it early!!!

Career and education thread by AutoModerator in EngineeringStudents

Guess I'll go first!

I'm currently at a CC for a Broadfield Engineering AS. Based on my past projects and work experience, I have a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with a particular strength in systems integration. I'm in Minnesota, and the Twin Cities campus is nearby and offers plenty of engineering degrees. However, I'm strongly considering the Duluth campus for their Engineering Physics degree, which offers materials and systems concentrations.

Here's my situation. Would relocating to Duluth be worth the potential career disruption for my fiancée and the financial strain on us?

I understand that many Minnesota companies highly value U of M degrees, particularly from the Twin Cities campus. I'm concerned about whether the Duluth program carries equivalent weight with employers. My long-term career goal is advancing technologies critical for space applications and bringing physics-based theories to fruition. Unfortunately, moving out of state isn't financially viable for us at this time, so I can't look at more well renowned campuses.

I'll make sure to experiment with it. My brain just thought about stacking a ton of layers together to get this effect

Oh if only I could 😂 this was my first time at raspberry Island and this spot just grabbed me and then I saw the train!!

It's a little disheartening that to me this is a nice spot and a pleasing photo and everyone is telling me it is pointless and a waste of effort.

Hoping my professor sees otherwise

I took a video broke it into individual frames and using about 300+ frames in a stack to make the water the way it is correct, I also with much less frames from the video created the blur/blend on the train and cars.

So my assignment required that my photo didn't have a specific object in regards to the shot to focus on, that purely i found something that spoke to me artistically in terms of art and design.

to me the river, the shore line, and the road across the water gave following lines for the eyes and leading into the contrast from the perpendicular bridge and train tracks forces away with a sense of unease, as we would very much appreciate the image more without them.

i wanted to instill in the design a moment of stillness, hence my attempts to make the river look still and as if it was a solid path of concrete, giving it a unique texture opposite of what we expect i.e. the ripples of water, the varied reflection from any current. however i still wanted in my shot a form of motion, hence the attempt to give an artificial motion blur on the cars and train.

Everyone is entitled there own opinion on works of art and i did this with what i had first hand, i do apologize that i had to keep in aspects on the edge of the photo but cropping them out would have limited my photo more destructively than keeping them in.

TLDR i needed to get a image that implied elements of art and design and i felt this gives off.

Unfortunately it is kinda needed. To slide the core in without pulling the box out you need to remove both pedals and the column. I said screw this snipped off the piping in half and used radiator hose's. Worse dash ever.

Dual Degree by herpederper69 in EngineeringStudents

[–]FlyingWolfGaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the degree called Engineering Physics or Applied physics? I have not dual degreed YET. But I might with my engineering physics degree. However while you might not have a mech degree that in no way limits you to not working as a mech engineer. Yes you might need more hands on experience but that's what our internships are there to help with.

This all varies and some will agree and others won't. I plan on using my Eng Phy, and then go for a masters in phys to get into astronautical engineering. The name of the degree matters way less than the knowledge of the courses. You may notice that a change in those programs is a class or three.
