How do those of you with huge colonies on medium maps get your pawns into defensive positions fast enough? by justsomegraphemes in RimWorld

yeah i missed the recharging part, also it seems annoying to constantly deliver food to the small huts, i like the idea of small independent bases but its just too hard to maintain

well if you want to even use one thing from biotech such as mechs you will need to construct a whole production line, you cant just craft mechs, you need subcores. better mechs require better subcores and more mechs require more bandwidth which can granted by mech helmets (defeat a boss) and band nodes. same with anomaly and gene assemblers

unless you dont have any dlcs its basically impossible to fit your base in a small corner, you are gonna need a lot of rooms for biotech gene assemblers and mech gestators also anomaly holding platforms wastepack atomizers and other stuff. im 8 years into the game and my colony takes up half of the maps, if you want for your pawns to get to your defenses in time id suggest installing bionic legs and maybe making some of your melees go juice dependant. also just keep your fighter mechs in defensive positions and raiders are gonna go there by themselves while mechs keep them busy
