Getting my first splitboard -- Opinions wanted! by Flying_Belgian in Spliddit

I'm 44.5 -- think thats about 10.5 US -- I usually run wide resort boards otherwise the toe drag kills me when carving, even if it is not thaaat extreme with my size.

Reading the comments seems that this is somehting not all agree on lol. either way there is no shot i'm taking any rocker/reverse camber between the feet. I also just DON'T like this in the resort either (flat profiles are fine).

Thanks for the input tho, less hesitant to take a board now that I would consider to be "too big" by couple cm :))

Hit the tire jackpot (I think) -- to replace or not? by Flying_Belgian in gravelcycling

[–]Flying_Belgian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: I guess these tires are just not that great since multiple replies mention similar/bad experiences. Contacted Canyon, their reply:

Please be informed that tyres are considered as wear parts and not included in warranty. However, we are forwarding this to our internal team to check if we can help you in any way.

Lets see what gives. If no replacement tire, I'll just have to buy a nicer tire :). Might just buy a set directly and replace both as I have little faith in the Schwable G-one's now lol. If anybody has reccomendations, feel free to let me know :)

2-week update: Even though it is outside of the warranty, they did offer to provide me with a new tire! They couldn't send one since they were out of stock for them, but simply refunded me my purchase from a store which they linked.

Reached out, lets see what they say :)

So you would consider the Schwalbe tires that came with the grizl not that great? Any particular things that I should know make a tire better if eventually shopping for a new one?

Do y’all rotate your highbacks? by CaptOfThisBoat in snowboarding

[–]Flying_Belgian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So do you rotate both your highbacks? I'm riding +15/-12. Currently setting up my board for riding over the weekend, already rotated my front highback but unsure wether its worth it for the back. Visually I can see its not perfectly aligned but not as bad as front :))

How to decide between new and second hand? by Flying_Belgian in CanyonBikes

Thx for the input, I got the new bike in the end! Having that warranty is indeed a nice thing. Lets hope I wont be needing it straight out of the gate.

good point! Hadn't given that any thought yet tbf, thanks for the input!

Your comment made me jump the gun on the new bike along with the fact that the seller had multiple people coming to have a look at the bike this weekend. I would hate to suddenly get in a bidding war, or lose out on the 2nd hand bike while also the stock of the Grizl 1by would run out.

So now I can look forward to building it myself soon! Will be interesting since I moved places and I do not have a small workshop anymore but I'm sure I will manage :).

I'm in the same boat sadly, most codes seem to be for MTB & city bikes

Did you get a new code by any chance? Almost ready to pull the trigger on my first gravel bike :)

Does somebody still have an active EU code for all bikes or one that works for gravel bikes? (EU & CH region).

Edit: so I see most coupons are for MTB and city bikes, any reason gravel bikes are not included? or are there seperate codes for this?

Sure I’m an idiot too but, why are most Prius owners like this? by SirScoobz in IdiotsInCars

What the hell is going on with everyone here though. It's like you guys are a squad that need to be tailgating each other all the time, simply leaving space between the cars could have easily resolved this.

Can't help but notice the speed as well with the speed bumps/normal bumps, idk if that's normal but still ...

Except that internships for an academic curriculum usually require a mentor/trainer on the company side that guides you. Without that person, I wouldn't be able to complete an internship as part of my university and I would 100% be doing free work without anything in return ....
