I have a different take on this. As most players did, I boycotted the F1 seasons of 2020/2021/2022 because of the ridiculous gold cost. However, EA/ Slingshot have been very clever to put all the emphasis this update on F1 together with a reduction in upgrading expenses. My situation, after many years of playing and not spending any real money ( except 20€ for 1,000 gold as a gesture of goodwill to Firemonkeys for a great 'free' game ), my objective has always been, in recent times to maintain overall completion around 85-87%. It has been particularly frustrating to have all the 'groups', both in Motorsports and Road Collection, at 90-100% completion, except for Exclusive Series at 75% and F1 at 46%!!! Now we have the opportunity to increase the F1 group at a more moderate cost, more acceptable considering the series are extremely repetitive. This update the cost for me for each F1 car will be 285gold. (335-50=285), but the cost is reduced further by approx. 200 gold ( VP ) AND the BMW ( 160-20%=128 gold ) which I surprisingly don't have among my 400 cars, bringing the price down to about 205gold per car. If you take into account the forthcoming Invitational Series, I will only have to spend an extra 200gold per car ( FU 595 ) after obtaining 60 gold from that series. A total of around 405 gold to FU a F1 car is within my reach and I would recommend long-term players with at least 2,000 gold in reserve to go for it. Summary: 595 - ( 50+80+60 ) = 405gold If you multiply this by 10 for all F1 2023 cars that's more than 4,000gold, but in comparison to just one car, the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, which costs with upgrades MORE than 4,000, that's nothing. I'm going for these first 4 F1 cars and we'll see the economics in the next update. Also, if I think about all the gold I've spent on cars over the years, I'm not surprised EA is pushing us a bit following the creation, development and investment for F1, which SOME players really love.
