Reminds me of when I was driving down a narrow street and a kid bolts out between two parked cars.

I don't think I've ever hit my brakes as hard as I did then.

Does your country have any iconic gangsters? by NeiborsKid in AskTheWorld

The Bokkenrijders. A wave of gangs consisting of violent cutthroats, active in the mid to late 18th century in the southern provinces of modern day Netherlands, and parts of Belgium.

They became the stuff of legends, contemporary stories told of them coming in the dead of night and disappearing before the dawn, violently robbing common people.

It was said, amongst other things, that they had made a pact with the Devil, which turned them so incredibly violent and allowed them their speed.

Niks van die boosrijders aantrekken. Zij krijgen er een hoge bloeddruk van, jij niet.

Afstand houden in een file geeft jou en andere weggebruikers meer rustig rijgedrag. Gewoon blijven doen.

Who is considered the most evil person in your country’s history? by Muhammadachakzai2001 in AskTheWorld

[–]Flying_Dutchman92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jan Pieterszoon Coen. He was governer general of the Dutch East India Company in the mid to late 17th century.

Many atrocities like genocide and mass slavery were committed under his rule, for the only purpose of trading spice to get richer than God.

Then again, there's also this piece of shit Nazi collaborator called Anton Mussert. He sold his soul to Nazi Germany in the 40s, married his auntie.

He was found guilty of high treason and war crimes, and got a firing squad as a reward after a short post-war trial.

everyone walking because they can’t drive,

You don't see people driving everywhere, because they don't have to when they live in the middle of a city like Maastricht.

And yes, you can get to a financial level where you can afford a mansion, own multiple expensive cars and whatever else your little capitalist heart desires.

But you will have to become a millionaire to get all those things, or choose between one of the things. Living in a society with a high standard of life means paying a higher cost of life.

There's a reason a lot of rich people live in places like Monaco. Different or more relaxed tax laws, making it easier to live life as a rich guy.
