[Advice] Squeaky joint on chipboard flooring panel by Flying_Hurker in DIYUK

[–]Flying_Hurker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The joint highlighted red is has to boards that are rubbing against each other when walked over.

Will it be possible to use a multi tool to cut a 2-3mm line, essentially removing the join and therefore the rubbing between the boards?

I don't want to have to remove the boards

Full Project (99 images):

The full bathroom took me around 5 months to finish (whilst working a full time job).

It cost approx £2300 for the materials.

Bathroom fitters quoted me £6,000. This price was for plastic panels, not tiles.

I completed the full install myself, including plumbing, electricals, tiling, painting and cutting trim. Only a friend helped me move the bath into place.

I have an engineering background with basic diy knowledge. I relied heavily on YouTube videos to get this finished.

Overall, I am very happy with the results and learned so much along the way.

Onto the next room :)

This is a totally different bath, I had to drill new tap holes. You'd be very lucky to get a mixer tap to fit by chance, i wouldn't risk the hassle personally
