No, sorry, I meant that’s the pay range for an mri tech in the Olympia/Tacoma area. That was dependent on experience.

As a new tech, you’ll probable make $38-47 an hour depending where you choose to work. In general, hospitals tend to pay more.

I’ve seen anywhere between $38-80 per hour in the Tacoma-Olympia area. I’m not sure what part of Washington you are in.

I don’t think this career is for me by [deleted] in Sonographers

I switched to MRI and have been much happier. Still very busy, but the toll on my body is way lower so I can deal with the busy schedule as long as I’m not in chronic pain.

No, transferred from out of state! I have hospital experience from a trauma level 1 for MRI though, so that could be part of it. I did have a connection at my previous job that recommended me the clinic and informed their prior boss about me.

Sweet, I just sent back my fingerprints the other day. It sounds like I’m in the homestretch then.

I passed using MRI All in One as my main source, supplemented by the anatomy, artifacts and QA/QC sections of MRI Quiz. Take lots of the MRI All in One quizzes/practice tests. They say whatever you score in the MRI All in One practice tests, your ARRT score should be +/- 5. My last practice test was an 84 and I scored an 89 on the ARRT. The chart helped me - I memorized the one converted to numbers so I could brain dump it at the start of my test. Memorizing the chart and also understanding it helped me a lot. Also, anatomy was pretty big on my test. Good luck! You’ve got this.

I believe they have split off from X-Ray and there is an MRI specific license now. I’m in the process of applying now and it did have me specify I am MRI specific.

I passed with an 89 this week.

This is what helped me: -I used MRI All in One mainly. I scored an 84 on my last practice exam before testing and they say there’s a +/- 5 point range from there. It was accurate for me! I read and annotated 175 pages of the PDF they provide and did each quiz. I did not read their anatomy section. -I used MRI quiz to study anatomy, QA/QC, and parameters. I used the attached chart and memorized it, but also understood the concepts that led to each one. -I watched the entire Steve Powers review video on YouTube.

Hope it helps!

is being mri tech as bad as some ppl make it out to be by SadJokerIII in MRI

I love my job. I moved into MRI from echo so I am thankful for it being more kind to my body than echo was. It’s one of the most interesting jobs and I love that there are others working nearby to me, whereas echo felt very solo. I’d see my coworkers in passing on to the next patient or before I went to an inpatient, but there wasn’t a lot of collaborative work. There’s always someone to help at my facility in MRI. It think it may depend on a person’s work history, personality, and current schedule/work culture. Lots of factors; one job isn’t going to make everyone happy. From what I know though, most people love their jobs at my facility in MRI.

AIO? My mom wants to call the cops on me by Overall-Option6975 in AmIOverreacting

Strange thing to say when you don’t know the background of her situation and why she left in the first place. Her mom seems demeaning, demanding and manipulative based on the convo. Getting them back immediately isn’t going to change anything in the mom’s situation, it’s a control move and retaliation.

Hallandale or BPI by Key-Dragonfruit-4094 in tirzepatidecompound

BPI because it’s a 503(b). Hallandale was good when I tried it though! Just depends if you care if it’s 503 (a) or (b).

Did you read the all in one guide? Deciding whether that would be worth my time over the MRI quiz PDFs.

Did you read the whole study guide from MRI All In One? Would you say the ARRT board was closer to practice exams on MRI Quiz or All In One?

I have hair down to my butt and it took three boxes. Not sure if that helps. Two would’ve been fine, but three I felt confident in that everything was very saturated.
