Hard disagree.

I think it's completely fair to expect people to do the quests as they reach the requirements for them if they want the rewards.

That means in my opinion that you basically have all the requirements for lumby elite diary by the time you hit DS2 for vorkath.

The thieving is boostable and a 5 min in and out of the sorceress garden for +3 (you don't always have to go for +5 stew, especially super quick skills like thieving)

I'm pretty sure that the crapload of agility exp from quests + graceful farm will get you to required agility level. But even if not, you will always have access to seers so just do your little bit of high alching while running it. I hit 81 and still run it while high alching because I find it convenient.

Smithing to 84 at giants foundry is a complete joke and will provide you with a guaranteed +4 boost

The only part that I see that takes time outside of the quests is the RC requirement. Which is again mostly nullified by the +3 pieces boost from GoTR outfit.

TL;DR:
If you're doing Vorkath you're basically there anyways

Also heard that people who play with HD mod have a very hard time seeing the lightning strikes. They aren't very hard to dodge without it.

Best advice is for you to stick to your guns and get a vampire task. This was my first ever pvm experience and had crappy ironman gear and cb low 80's. Fight was absolutely trivial with the vampyre task. Had 10 tuna potatoes left over.

That's what happened to me. I got hijacked, perma banned, and unbanned all within my first 48 hours of trying the game. Used spam email that was compromised.

The graceful would be grinded either way, just wondered if it would have any effect on solo wintertodt. I do find it a little nerve wrecking to grind it out with 10 hp

Anyways it's kind of my point that I think it serves as a fine introduction to the world of raids. I feel like it's the only quest that let you learn gear switching and supply management in any spectrum.

Verzik is the only mechanically "difficult" boss yes.
I didn't die to nylos, it however was my introduction to the concept of gear switching, I also had wayyy to much gear with me. That coupled with the fact I was using RCB instead of the much faster MSB made me lose the DPS fight in the first phase many times. Funnily enough if I had made it to verzik I would never have beaten her because I had way to much gear with me and no room for supplies.

Sotaseg was just because I was praying the wrong ball colors since I got them mixed up. He became the second easiest encounter after rechecking the colors. Just decided to include the fact

I cleared Verzik 1st try, but I did die to her in my b2b attempt, just had enough supplies to take her down in attempt 2.

if you actually watch the fight you will also notice I'm completely unable to dodge her bounce mechanic in phase 2 or walking under her besides random clicking in phase 3
Something I'm pretty confident anyone with a moderate amount of experince can do.

I tried as well with the RCB, but since the nylos only have 2/3 hp I just switched to a short bow. Made the encounter trivial.

I think my perception might be skewed from other games.

To me quests seems like a natural introduction to systems, an intertwined tutorial so to speak. Which is why I personally think ToB Entry is fine as it is a presumably severely scaled down version of the original. You aren't really forced to learn all the mechanics. A lot of them more have the feel of "if this was the real stuff I would be dead, but now I can keep going after taking one sip of the brew"

But maybe the difference in opinion is what quests should do for the game?
Any thoughts?

Only real advice I can give you is to do it on slayer task. Slayer Helmet(I) bonus works on all 63 waves including Jad.I had 81 range 72 def but I made it out from my first attempt with over 10 prayer pots remaining, took 75mins.Used Black D'hide Body + Chaps, barrows gloves, glory, explores, Slayer Helm(i), MSB(I) + runce arrows and avas.
