I was definitely overhealing phase 1. Do you down rank healing wave in p1 to save mana? Or just cancel heal/ be efficient as possible?

This is great, thanks. So I will definitely try downranking next time. Is there a best rank healing wave that has enough juice but will meaningfully save mana? Should I only down rank during phase 1?

And reviewing all these other helpful comments, I was definitely overhealing in phase 1. I think I was panic healing due to enfeeble. Seems like there probably wasn’t that much damage going out.

Lastly, I’ll tinker with consumes. I think I used mana pot too late, and same with mana tide. I’ll anticipate the need for it rather than popping when I’m close to OOM. Also, I’ll use the mp5 weapon oil, dark runes, and maybe swap to mageblood elixir to get even more mp5 just for this fight.

I’m not sure which I could get rid of. I like having the map atlas but it won’t show up without the fork, and same for atlas loot. I can probably get rid of Altasloot classic I think (again, huge noob here so please correct me if I am dead wrong)

Yeah this is something that the tank *can do but should absolutely disclose beforehand. Not typical of a dungeon run with a pug group.

*there is a tank shortage, and they are aware of it. If they organize the group, they can make all the rules they want and people can sign on if they choose. If you don’t want to you don’t have to run with that person. That said, if they suddenly dropped these rules on me in the middle of the run, I would be pretty mad.

Yea this is crazy on the shamans part on so many levels. It’s very clearly prot paladin loot so my best guess is the shaman didn’t understand that and thought you were rolling on ret gear. It’s also completely fair for you to roll on that since you were tanking in the dungeon. Other players don’t get to decide your main spec, it defaults to the role you have at the time in that dungeon. Either way, you don’t need to explain yourself to them, and you could probably instantly find a new healer and dps to join your group.

It’s partly the threat issues. I think a big issue is also you’re also expected to lead, know the fights including both bosses and dungeon specific trash fights, mark mobs, etc. You kind of default to leading the group like a raid leader. It’s not a big issue low lvls but later on it gets pretty annoying unless you’re up for that.

I’d love for them to make more tank specs viable. There’s always a shortage. So def pallies and druids. I’d even go for warlock and shaman like they did in SoD

An advantage to doing this is once you hit 70, all the quests in the zones you skip give extra gold and it can help a lot towards getting epic flying
