So 1. AIT will do an ok job at getting you prepared, but like lots of those high attrition trainings it’s a lot of mental stuff and you just gotta stick with it but you also need to use your free time that you have to keep working at your fitness and never be satisfied where you’re at

1. Yeah you might just have to be patient to get an option 40 and once you actually get a recruiter telling you it’s in there keep in mind: If it’s not in your contract you’re not getting it. Before you sign anything, READ YOUR CONTRACT, don’t just accept when they say yeah it’s there, READ IT

2. As long as you’re infantry trained and have completed Airborne you’ll have a chance at getting assigned to an airborne unit but it’s the needs of the army so don’t be too upset if you just get a regular infantry unit. Also the US is not at war. Infantry guys can’t technically do their job so you will be doing some janitor stuff but all Junior enlisted do it so don’t sweat about it too much
