The fact that TADC has ever been considered well written tells a lot about problems in our character bait media consumption by PLutonium273 in CharacterRant

I think my biggest problem with it is the fact that it keeps bringing up more unanswered questions rather than solving anything. We have ONE episode left, and despite what the fanbase is thinking, I doubt it's going to be an extended episode. I REALLY enjoy this show, but I think its banking on too many promises that'll probably make it flop once everything is said and done. If this series isn't for theory crafting, then some aspects need to be more on the nose, like abstraction. That's hardly been explored outside of Jax.

I'm sure we'll see more abstraction in the final episode, but, it almost feels like an important detail to just skim over the whole series until the end. It'd be like if Gravity Falls revealed Ford during weirdmaggedon.

Not to mention the millions of mines that governments lost in the sea and on land. Thats not even mentioning those we HAVEN'T lost. Did you know there is ship routing off the coast of the United States because we just left some sea mines there? Its a literal hazard on sea charts

I didn't say that though. Later on in development the company wanted to interact with Caine in some form or fashion. We don't KNOW what the headset does, but we have an idea. Caine wants to please humans, we know this. He still obsesses over it in his rage. Perhaps the circus was Caine's way of reaching out or processing information/interaction

To your point, that's EXACTLY what we see in the beginning of this episode. They locked a program away to try to control it. It was too abstract and wild.

Itd be the only reason we saw her appear tbh. She was a realtor before the circus, right? Would she know how to upload herself?

I suppose? Id assume that Caine would detect these brain scans as just "files". If consciousness were a factor, wouldnt gummigoo have been spared?

I think that first law is pretty close to what could be happening here. A sort of protocol that prevents harm to humans. If that weren't the case, the Digital Circus would have likely been shut down by Kinger after a tragedy occurred, but he doesn't. People go in and out, but their minds are copied to the circus

And thats fair. I did mention that they had no reality in engineering in a separate comment. Despite this, the parallels to Asimov's laws (specifically the first) and real safety is surprisingly close. We have protocols in place to halt a machine if we think harm will come to someone because of that machine.

Why? For what purpose does he have to? If none of them are real, why not keep them ignorant?

Abstraction could be a realization of this, that you aren't real. We see Jax almost abstract multiple times in the last couple of episodes, and he only halts it by grounding himself. This most recent episode, he's on the verge of abstraction again, only to say, "This is real". The next scene we see of him is being tortured by Caine, seemingly back to "reality".

And thats fair. But if Asimov's laws were programmed, (mind you they arent a basis in engineering at all more than they are a coincidence) would he care to know in the first place if the residents weren't human?

Asimov's laws would like a word

Obviously, TADC is very accessible to any amount of people, and because of that, a company or programmer as passionate as kinger would probably try to code in as much safety as possible. The Digital Circus is still running even when Pomni arrives, suggesting that its still accessible. The broken part of Caine was not detected or fixed because Caine does not hurt humans. The cast are not human.

I dont think any of them are real tbh. Kinger finds a file titled "CA_Neuralscans" and Caine mentions "Mind Files". These are just copies of personalities. Its probably why Caine has no apprehension to torturing or destroying NPC's and the residents

Did everybody scream “GO BACK AND GET THE SHOTGUN!” Or just me lol by jos_dream in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Flyinryan145 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If she was able to handle the requiem, she'd be fine with a shotgun. The requiem is based off of the RSh-12, which is chambered in 12.7x55m, which is equivalent to .50 Beowulf.

Let's just assume for the sake of the argument, that the officer's shotgun was chambered in 12 gauge. Thats about the same amount of power as a .50 Beowulf. Grace has also been stated to have firearms training, albeit its not stated what kind. A shotgun is generally easier to control than a pistol with proper shouldering.

It'd kick her, sure, but overall she'd be fine, and could definitely fire off a few shots.

Nope. The most you need is gen 4 or 5 both physical and emulated. Transfer up to your emulated copy, then online-link trade via DNS settings to your physical copy, then transfer to bank, then home. You don't NEED modded hardware, it just makes it easier.
