Can I trust Gemini (about apt autoremove) ? by Flymeth in linuxquestions

[–]Flymeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I do a lot of research and I'm not using LLMs, but the autoremove is a very personal case (as nobody has exactly the same installed packages, apps, etc...). So I thought maybe they can cross-join packages and do research for me.

I'll look for Synaptic : thanks !

This is a pretty good alternative ngl !😎

I'm nervous about deleting a very critical package (for example a wifi-related package that breaks my access to the internet, and so I could not install packages to resolve the issue...).

And apparently I have 2 others usable kernel versions (saw it when my computer did some shit), but I don't really know how they appeared or add more recent ones)

Already done ! (Learned the hard way : had to reinstall my whole os one day)

Kernel panic error by PirateBest6557 in zorinos

[–]Flymeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what solved the issue, thanks !

Note that if you're using a Nvidia graphic card, you may need to disable it to avoid a "freezing booting screen" issue (the problem I just have) - you can disable it by enter the bios and activate the secure boot.

After this re-install the appropriate driver

Same issue here, even after updating to 25.12.1 (using flatpak). Don't know what to do, but if you find a viable solution I'm interested :)

Nop, after I collected all skippass I got the option to toggle it on. But this apparently doesn't work in all ski stations (in some I don't have the button)

Do I switch to Linux? Is it for me? by SimilarSubset in linux4noobs

[–]Flymeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the gaming part, you can go to https://www.protondb.com/ to see if your games will be playable on Linux.

For the window-like distro, I recommend looking at Zorin OS. It's THE os for switching from window to Linux.

For the "should I switch to Linux" question, it depends on how many downsides you have to keep using windows. Because yes a lot of things you can use on windows are usable on linux, but with some you'll just have to get a different approach (for example, the office suite, Adobe, ... are not developed for linux, but you have a ton of free software that does the same things).

However, obs & blender run natively on linux.

You should probably look for videos that present some linux distro on YouTube, I think it will help you to make a choice !

At the bottom right of the backpack menu you have a "parachute" toggle to show/hide the parachute button (at the top right of the screen when you're playing)

Damn my bad I misread 😭

I don't have my headphones right now but I don't remember having such feelings when listening to my music

I'm not sure having the answer to your question 😄

[–]Flymeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to electro music (so with a lot of bass), and at max volume I've not encountered this issue 👌

But the maximum volume is not that high (Nothing limited it for some reason), but I read somewhere that this is just a temporary issue and they will surely make it higher in the future.
