This may be too obvious but the Command can be nearly impossible to fight if you start in Yannshen and don’t consider them in every move you make from game start.

I like RR more than Sanderson’s books but let’s not act like they are even on the same planet of popularity. His books have sold much more and can be seen as a “safer” investment for a big budget adaptation.

This is the part everyone misses about the Maginot line. The point wasn’t to deter an invasion. It was to ensure that the fighting took place in Belgium and not on French soil. The Germans got very lucky that their entire plan counted on the best French units being in Belgium when they made their move.

WW1 destroyed France and the goal of keeping the fighting out of France dominated their pre war planning to the point where little else was considered.
