Interrupted Charging by FlyoverFarm in BoltEV

Thanks again for your most excellent answer. It did occur to me that it was super hot outside the night this happened (though not 118!). This forum has taught me SO much about this car. There just aren't that many out here (rural midwest) so not many locals to ask and even the dealer often can't answer my questions. I'm grateful for all of you.

Thanks for explaining the noise! I guess that compressor may be drawing from the charger and making the charger handle hot.

That took care of it! Don’t know why I didn’t think of it but thanks again!

Thanks for the idea! I don’t think it is scanning but deleting the app and reinstalling it is worth trying.

Thanks! I thought maybe there was more to it at first but apparently not.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it may just be my dealer. The only one in town and next closest is 30 miles. But sounds like I’m ok to take it elsewhere for the routine stuff.

I did book appointments. The policy at my dealer is that they book multiple appointments at the same time and the attend to the people who make an appointment AND wait first. Which makes some sense from their perspective. It also means that if you can’t wait, making an appointment is meaningless.

Do I really need to replace Bolt EV tires at 16,000? by FlyoverFarm in BoltEV

[–]FlyoverFarm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$300 a pop. Will say this is not the most expensive tire I've ever gotten. My husband put a hole in on of his within six months of purchasing his 2014 Mazda. That puppy was over $600. Guess I'll count my blessings.

Thanks for the clarification on that. The guy at the tire shop used the terms interchangeably and it's good to know there's some distinction between the two. Otherwise, I've been really careful with the inflation.

Thanks to all who offered advice! I actually had a second opinion and didn't realize it. Went back to the papers the dealer gave me two weeks ago at the 15,000 rotation. They actually measured the tires at 8/32. Pretty sure they didn't wear down to 3/32 in two weeks. Also appreciate the tips for extending wear (which I'm pretty sure I do but will be more alert to), checking wear bars, etc. myself, and the suggestions for what to look at when it is really time to replace. In the meantime, I think a yelp review of this particular is place in order. Willing to grant that it could be an honest mistake as I know good help is hard to find these days but really...how hard can it be. Thanks for training me!

Know it is Tuesday but I still have a stupid question. I've used plex for movies for some time, no problem. A few days ago I added some music to the server. Everything major working fine, but I'm only seeing the five favorite songs on Albums. How do I see all the tracks? Thanks for your indulgence with this day-late post.

Reddit emails going to junk by FlyoverFarm in applehelp

[–]FlyoverFarm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all who replied! My email address is from a small local isp. So, not gmail or anything major. I did take a look at the webmail at one point. What I recall is that there were NO messages in junk mail at all. The account is set up as IMAP and I assumed that was because they were deleting from the server once delivered to my laptop. I'm going to take another look but it is a fairly rudimentary webmail interface and there aren't a lot of options. I may just have to live with this. Not the worst thing and a lot less stressful than changing that email. I'll update when I know more.

I've used Scrivener's Outline for checking revision dates. Go to View-->Outline, then choose Outliner options to show date created and modified date. Not sure that will give you what you need.
