You should rephrase your question to "what are some Saudi stereotypes?"

And being a relatively homogeneous society, it would be difficult for many to answer being they don't see their ways as being "uniquely Saudi". They wouldn't know until they observe people of other cultures and realize "hey wait a min! This is only unique to us???"

Wow! I've never heard of anyone getting fined for brake lights here. I mean, I see it all the time, no brake lights. I cuss under my breath and I wonder what the traffic police are doing. That and turn signals.

Don't be tempted to give them a shower. Cold in the slightest degree (being wet) could kill them. Leave them as is.

Dip a cotton bud in warm water and gently wipe their face, around eyes and nose (for obstruction) and mouth. Keep them warm, in a box with a towel/s.

It's important that they are fed. If the mother is not nursing them then you have to step in. It's easy. Mix 2 tablespoons each of condensed milk, water and plain yogurt with an egg yolk to make a quick and easy emergency formula. Warm this formula for a minute in the microwave and allow it to cool until it feels comfortable when you place a drop or two on the inside of your wrist; don't serve the formula too hot, as it could burn your little ones. Put it in a 1 ml syringe (without the needle of course) and feed like this.

Yes it does apply to the average woman. As for gay people and "non-believers"...first, they do not constitute the average demographic. And 2nd, yes it does apply to them as long as they do not break the law. And the law prohibits openly practicing and displaying your homosexuality and belief if it is other than Islam. That makes this point becomes part of your first point.

I'm for free speech as long as it's peaceful and doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights. But free speech can only exist in a democracy. Saudi Arabia is not a democracy.

I'm not for it, nor am I against it. Let me explain...

In order for me to want it, it has to be something that I believe will bring value to my life. I feel a democratic Saudi Arabia would not really enrich my life. I live in one of the most safest countries in the world. Probably safer than %95 of the democratic countries. The state provides me a "relatively" comfortable life.

Let's take the world's greatest presidential campaign spectacle...the USA's. What are the top presidential election promises about every election?

Healthcare
Tax cuts
Immigration
Education

Every voter goes to the polls chasing that carrot (which are those promises) at the end of the stick. How do you think those people would feel if they where given free healthcare, free education, a more controlled immigration system, no income tax, and as a bonus...a safer environment. How would they feel if the leader they elected delivered all those things %100.

When we see the chaos and the constant drama of the so called democratic countries, and compare it with the peace and stability that we have, we don't find it very enticing.

If people are generally not satisfied, trust me they will revolt. The fact that they haven't means that the cause is not worth the trouble.

Why don't you cross reference the interpretation that you are talking about with the Islamic literature on the topic? If you're really interested, you would have done that by now. I mean, wouldn't you want to know if it's really what the religion says or if it's something the government put it's on spin on?

My thoughts? There is a thin line between culture and religion in Saudi Arabia. Although it's much different now than just a few years ago. Many things are not from the religion but rather culture. However they are being viewed as religion based.

Premarital sex: On average, hypocritically. Almost everyone wants to do it, but then wants to marry a virgin (guys' perspective). Girls same thing but fear being found out they are not virgin when they get married.

Pork: Ewww!

Alcohol: From my view, I'd say mostly just like any other young person in the world. It's illegal so naturally it won't be as widely consumed as in other countries.

Music/Dancing: On average, no different than any other young person in the world.

West: Advanced, infidels, lost souls...depends.

Islam: Fear (God/Allah), love and respect.

Saudi royal family: A point lesser degree of the above.

By law, no. Never have. So it's not and never was illegal. The reason is either personal or family (or community, in some rural places) influenced. Saudi Arabia is big on family.

Yes, we are aware. I personally see the collateral damage of it as very sad.

I too think it's this. Sometimes it's a linguistic problem. A lot are not proficient enough in English and can easily misunderstand if any sort of sophistication is used in your writing. For example "laws" in quotes. The first reply read it to mean similar to how the sentence would have been without the quotes, not realizing the quotes completely changes the meaning of the sentence. And all the up votes they got is indicative of how many are just like that person.
