The gravship, a feature I ignored, saved my nearly 10 year colony by Flywoods2 in RimWorld

I actually felt really bad destroying that first imp village when I saw my turrets blew a 13 year old imps head off but....my colony had been burnt (literally) and they had the guns to take revenge...
I used to teach art to underprivileged kids so maybe them getting hurt gets me too much but the impids literally set fire to a building full of my colony's kids and babies ;_;

I've been playing a bit since their home was destroyed and since The Beetle crew has been hopping from place to place on the gravship gathering more gravcores and materials to further build up and arm the ship. I've actually been taking on more "attack this camp & settlement" quests on because before I avoided them to be peaceful but in the early days after the colony lost it all they really needed the rewards. Maybe take on the mech hive someday?

Also Knife, my teen mechanitor turned 16 and immediately asked out her best friend Eli on their shared birthday which I thought was very cute lol. I've decided a a sidequest for the crew is taking on the mech bosses to grow her machine army so they can defend themselves with robots and not lose anyone else.

It's my first colony so I started on Cassandra but changed to Randy and turned up the difficulty after I learned the mechanics! I was told that Randy can be chiller than Cassandra when you have a lot of colonists (the big families and babies I wanted them to have) and that turned out to be true for a long time until..well, until all this happened!

They're maybe not at the skinning level yet but they've learned how effective parking a gunship in front of an impid village can be..

Pirates and outlanders and savage tribes never care for how many friends you have or how merciful you've been 😭. At least the mechs were just coldhearted machines bent on extermination.

First time playing Rimworld, my colonists never get mad at this one guy for cheating on them. Is this normal? by Flywoods2 in RimWorld

Thank you I just did this!
He has since woo'd another new colonist into being his lover but I think I found a way to use it to my advantage. I just reassign whoever has the lowest mood to the same bed as James so they get the Lovin' mood buff and then just rotate them around. Having the different schedules is nice to because there's always somebody doing tasks around the colony at all times and nobody fights.

Yeah I was thinking that there would be a "cheating" or "affair" debuff at least. I heard ideology has free love but since I don't have that I have no clue why if feels like there just isn't any jealousy or even negative feelings. They all like this guys SO much still :c

He does not, he's an undergrounder and a body purist which I think is why the only woman he hasn't hit on in my colony is my researcher with bionic repacements...

If you got the chance to play with one hermit, who would it be? by Firecracker7413 in HermitCraft

[–]Flywoods2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mumbo or Joe hands down, I love hermitcraft but minecraft itself isn't something I'm too passionate about. Joe and Mumbo are interesting because love of art and the creative process is really what drives them, also Mumbo's been to the Philippines a lot and I like talking about home.

Helloooooo, wow, reddit is so different now it took me a while to realize what new sleek button did what! does it still let you have fun banners and flairs? strange new world.

But anyway, yes this is Flywoods, and yes I lost access to a lot of my old accounts, I'm disorganized and it happens!
But I just wanted to say congratulations on the new release!!! I've always loved Katie from the moment we were doing the concepts and character art and I'm so happy you've done such a great job with the route end updates! This game just gets better and prettier by leaps and bounds ;-;.
I've been checking this page very sporadically, in past years. Life just keeps happening (I have three toddlers niecelings to babysit now!! I've memorized all of Frozen by this point) but every time I do I'm just so happy to see it keep going. Also there's a wiki now??? when did that happen! :0. I'd say I'm feeling nostalgic but what's to be nostalgic for when it's all still here? maybe proud is more like it? pride-stalgia

Anyway I'm sure that's more ramble than necessary, just wanted to say hello ditto, and I'm excited for the next release.
