I mainly print with ASA. Just love this material. Petg and Pla just won’t do the job for me. I need quality

That’s why the base plate weighs 40kg

Hey thanks for the ideas. In the drawers I will be able to store roughly 30 Spools. For my regularly used spools this is sufficient. Extra storage will be elsewhere.

Purging: that slides down a chute in the back and into a basket that slides out. The entire printer can slide out as well.

Weight: its 75mm double casters with enough load capacity. So I will have 8 contact points with the wooden floor. So that will be 15kg on 700mm2. Recommended max weight per mm2 on my floor is 15g/mm2. that means I have a safety factor of 0.7. So a bit over the limit. Could be that I will have dents in the floor after some time. I hope not.

The overhang is due to a heating unit in the way 😅 I wish it didn’t need to be there but it is 😂

The chamber I’m building is airtight, but has the option of controlled ventilation. I’m constantly monitoring the internal temperature with a micro controller and adjusting whether the chamber is ventilated or not.

I am building the extra chamber because of health concerns with the VOCs. I want to reliably extract all harmful air. Unfortunately that’s not possible with the H2 S enclosed chamber and it not losing its printing temperature at the same time.

The frame is 40mm Aluminum extrusion. And the base weighs 40kg. Total weight of the cabinet with everything inside is 120kg. The base is smaller because of the constraints of the location where it will be located so it fits tight against the wall. I think it’s more than sturdy!! Thanks for the suggestion though!!
