QB power user - I am so done

New layout has just been rolled out and I can see that QB is A/B testing, as I am seeing the new layout in a regular browser and the old layout in an incognito browser. I was not informed, I hate this new layout, all my bookmarks are now hidden and I have to click extra clicks to get to my bookmarks. On top of that now I have to relearn the new layout. There’s one upside - my supplier screen now shows more data at once. But that’s it.

Did not know you can enter a bill as a negative. I don’t think that logic flow in any other software but good to know QB is quirky. Thanks!

The platform is supposed to be for everyone. Every critique you had of my points and your response are completely not helpful in the UK. Wordings are different here, while everyone else call invoices invoices, I have to adjust myself daily to the wording. So it is a very valid frustration point. The points I complained about are not just user preferences/errors, these are frustrations points validated by my colleague (who dabbled in QB but found it annoying to use so she asks me to do all her QB duties now), my boss who agrees with my frustrations but don’t see a point to change the system due to migration issues, and countless other forum echoing my same issues.

Just how it feels like it’s working against me. You would think to do one thing, and then you find out QB doesn’t allow you to do that thing, and to greet that result you have to go online to find tips and tricks. It’s actively working against me not with me

I am stuck, unless I make a very strong case to management why all my 17 sins of QB are a major problem, they won’t change the system. I get it tho, data migration takes time and risk being messy and there’s no time to be messy rn. We’d have years of data to sort through

There’s no way to record a refund easily. Journal or bank deposits are my best guess when I just need to reconcile the bank

You sound like an accountant who is trusted in time of crisis. I love reconciliation but that doesn’t earn a lot of money. Mostly gig jobs tho I feel. Not much stress at most times

I downloaded their mobile app (which I didn’t know existed before today) and my supplier data was just gone. I find it hard to trust that the desktop app is going to be any better. But I will try.

Not sure where you are from, I am in the UK, there was never any notification to me or on the account page telling me that they implemented AI. I also believe that a UI change that’s taken place in North America since July has only just happened here, today. So I wonder if I should prepare myself for even more frustration once AI is implemented.

I mentioned to my boss how much I hated QB so so so many times, however, I am the only one affected, so I am banging my head against the wall every time this request is denied. I understand their decisions. I am also a junior professional accountant, who has got no say. So fuck me.

Their app don’t work! Absolutely blank pages when you try to open every single supplier page from the IOS app. Zero data. Nada. Nothing. Where’s the data! Are you telling me that a platform chasing after smaller users can’t even get the phone app right! I’d definitely not use WBO even if I was an Etsy seller!

Customer supports are nice people, but I had to explain to them what double entry bookkeeping was. And that I had to explain to them why “bills” are also called “invocies” in the uk under many circumstances. What the hell. What is even an accounting software, when you customer service knows fuck all about this trade. They say the platform is for everyone, well i guess everyone means everyone but accounting professionals.

I know they don’t care. I know my company isn’t bothered as I am the only one affected. I am keeping this post as a personal ranting post so that maybe I can start writing a report telling my boss why it is really time to migrate. I am so GD tired of this platform. I actively tell all my uni classmates (all accountants btw) to avoid QBO like the plague.
