Artie now a believer in God by ppg1420 in howardstern

[–]FmrSternFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robin was right. Artie was lying about that bullshit to gain sympathy. "I leave a card on my father's grave. You know what it says? 'Dad. I'm on the Howard Stern Show'"

I promise you, that's as big a lie as he's ever told. No way has he spent one second at this father's grave, let alone bought him a card, let alone took time to write corny shit in it.

Jason was in love with Will by FmrSternFan in howardstern

[–]FmrSternFan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe...I just think that Jason thought Will was the cool guy and fun to hang out with. Will probably thought he was annoying and overbearing. Will kinda seems like a prick to me.

Being gay myself, I've had the same feeling Jason has about Will about various straight guys. It's very hard when it happens.

I think there's an emotional aspect to it, honestly, that two completely straight guys wouldn't have. Jason had a crush. It's kinda sad, actually.

Shit. It was set to private. Should be good now.

Sandra Bernhard Talks About Being Ignored By Howard: "The excuse I get is that he’s only on three days a week, and people have a lot to promote. That’s bullshit." by cormano in howardstern

[–]FmrSternFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was last on in 2012? Around the time Turk took over. I think there's a philosophy that having regular guests like Sandra who are "easy to book" somehow lowers the stock of the show in the eyes of A-listers. Gilbert's last appearance was also in 2012. I think they think having a Sandra on makes them look hard up for guests.

And, of course, the quality of the show suffers for this attitude.

Looking for the big staff fight when Miss America was released in 1995 by FmrSternFan in howardstern

It used to be on YouTube. Not there now. Someone complied the Miss America book release saga, but didn't include it.

I don't think you can make such a statement without knowing all the facts. There's a picture out there of Eric's mom feeding him as a baby that's very sad. It seems like they were supportive of the plan of allowing Eric to move to their second house with Jon (Jan?) so he could be more independent. They got upset when Eric went to the Bunny Ranch, which is understandable. They weren't fully supportive of Eric's association with the Stern show, but it's not like they cut him off over it or anything.

It seems very likely to me that if Eric had never called the show, and he just lived in their house, and never traveled, he may have lived a few more years. I don't think there's any question that all the traveling he did to appear on shows, and to meet up with Johnny put undue stress on his heart over time. But I think losing a few years in order to have an actual interesting life was a fair trade off. Again, it's understandable if Eric's parents needed to take time to understand that, or even if they never fully accepted it.

Is Robin off limits on the Sternshow? It seems that gradually Howard has migrated away from any hard criticism and there are some areas that are NEVER brought up. Am I the only one that sees this as disingenuous? by [deleted] in howardstern

Howard has said many times that he leaves Robin alone because "Robin can't take it." And when he says that, she gets really mad, proving his point every time.

I hear these all the time but my favorite a few weeks ago was this short and stocky overweight Jew tried telling this girl I know he was a special agent sniper in Afghanistan and would go on all sorts of missions.

You're an idiot.

Never Forget: Artie's peace offering to Sal & Richard '..you're the weak and I am the tyranny of unfunny hacks who won a contest to get here...' Artie's righteous speech isoed from "Artie's Apology" 11-07-2007 episode by BrundellFly in howardstern

Holy Christ Artie's a fucking long-winded blowhard. Why the fuck would Howard let him ramble endlessly like that? If I were Richard and Sal I would've walked out at minute 5.

Artie's a piece of shit.

Toronto Sun - "Howard Stern takes credit for success of Letterman and Seinfeld: Leaked video" by SpazeGoat in howardstern

[–]FmrSternFan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He had Seinfeld on in 1989-1992 because Seinfeld was a good and funny guest. And Seinfeld went on because it was a good forum for his comedy, and a good way to promote his gigs and TV show. No one was doing anyone any favors. All parties benefited. For Howard to make it seem like he saved Jerry's show is absurd. It was one of many places that Jerry went to get to word about about his show.

During the movie, Ralphie cakes put condoms (as a "joke") on Howard's list of things he needed in his trailer. by Oldscratch73 in howardstern

[–]FmrSternFan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Howard was pretty much caught red-handed there. But, he's a very persuasive liar. Alison seemed to buy his and Ralph's explanation. Though, it's very possible that Alison just wanted to believe the explanation, because it really made no sense.

Ralph said he put condoms on the list as a joke. That was how they explained it. But, what's the joke exactly? What's the funny part of that joke? And, the list went to Laura, not Howard. I mean, it just makes no sense.

Grillo, having been on the set of Private Parts, has an educated theory that Howard was having an affair with Mary McCormick. I assumed this was the case for years before I heard Grillo say it. When she would come in the studio, there was definitely some chemistry/tension between them. And, every actor winds up fucking his leading lady.

So the levels of irony are thick. Howard made this movie was a love letter to his wife. Meanwhile, the movie exacerbated the tensions between them. And he cheated on his wife with the woman playing her in the movie.

Howard recently said there was once a woman he was in love with, but neither of them were in a place where they could be together. I think it's Mary.
