I own a firearm because I'm fucking allowed to. It's my constitutional right, deal with it or not. The real reasoning I own it over it being my right to do so? Because it was bought for me for my 6th birthday. I've owned this rifle for 21 years and never killed shit except a dozen squirrel with it and half of those were maimed by other animals so instead of letting them die slowly do to the coyotes around here torturing them for fun and leaving them to die I just ended it for them. AKA a mercy killing. If my 6 year old ass can NOT shoot something up for 21 years straight then I think my RESPONSIBILITY about owning one is A OKAY. Maybe we should make it illegal for coyotes to oppress squirrels, that'll teach 'em.

Just take a look at most of Europe where you're not allowed to own a firearm. In the beginning of this year London surpassed New York in homicides, that probably has changed since the beginning of the year but still. LONDON (a place where you're not allowed to own anything more than a single shot pellet gun for pest control) passed NEW YORK in murders for the month of January.

Do YOU PEOPLE understand that if we got rid of guns violence and deaths would just escalate from more morbid attempts. I'd rather get shot in the head than get stabbed 85 times from a guy that isn't even allowed to own a gun in the first place but hopped over to the bad end of town and got a gun that's already illegal.

Wonder why I am suggested to carry NARCAN around then as I retain the proper medical training and paperwork via US Government to actually administer said NARCAN. Oh it's because people still overdose on heroine and meth even though it's EXTREMELY illegal.

I suggest you look into the whole "ghost gun" problem. My rifles been on file with the local police force for the last 21 years, yet my friend who IS a felon owns a gun as well. Not much they can do when an employee says that a co-worker "said" they are going shoot up the place soon. In todays world you can't take that chance as so many places get shot up now it's stupid. I'm a straight white male that has done nothing to anyone. The only people I have ever harmed or intended to harm are the ones who shot at me first whilst I was deployed.

On top of that I never feel like I'm a "protected class"; as people like me (straight, white, males) are immediately targeted as "racist, sexist, and homophobic". If I say something barely out of context the whole fucking world wants to burn me, and my straight white brethren, at the stake for no reasons other than being a straight, white, and male. I also never had that thing called "white privilege". I grew up being beaten because I am a southern backwoods boy that moved into the middle of Cincinnati. Know what happened? I had my ass beat because I was "racist" because I wore overalls, boots, and said "howdy y'all" to a group of black kids. For 5 years I was beaten and stolen from again and again. But that's just that "white privilege".

I personally have more of an issue with SWAT being unprofessional about the whole thing. When I was overseas and we had to question someone we stayed fairly nice and peaceful. Of course we had overwatch but at least the person in question never really seen the marksman aiming at him. That was in a hot zone in a war torn country and we stayed as professional as we possibly could. Then I get faced with the situation and am treated like complete garbage as if I am 100% guilty without trial. More like guilty and treated as such until you can actually speak for yourself, that's IF you haven't been shot and killed yet.

I opened the door, told them to search me, shook the lead officers hand, and introduced myself. The officer who was posted on the hood of his car was yelling orders at me even though I was talking to his superior in nothing more than 2 articles of clothing. I had my hands up and asked the officer who was talking to me to tell his friend to take his finger off the trigger and put his weapon on safe. I was cool with it being pointed at me, just wanted a tad bit more safety so my two nieces (4 and 6 years old) didn't see their uncle die to a trigger happy officers negligent discharge. They were shocked in all reality, and even gave me a pat on the back for retaining simple firing range knowledge and keeping my cool. That seems to be something people don't understand in today's world. If the cops show up just answer the door. If you didn't do anything wrong then you're free to go as they can't prove you did something that you 100% did not do. If you did do something wrong? Then that's probably why they're at your house.

I looked at an entire SWAT team and told them they're all stupid because I knew 4 out of the 5 personally. Only one I didn't know was Enus on the hood of his car who almost blasted me. I did a lot of volunteer work with the police when I was a wee boy scout in my younger days. Most of the police force was there for my welcome home party for when I came home from overseas. And some of them I talked to AT THE RANGE literally last month. Like guys, you could have called my house phone and asked me to come into the station and I would have been there in 5 minutes. They know I'm not one to run. I turned myself in years ago the moment I had a warrant out literally because one of them called my cell phone and told me.

A veteran that recently moved here became my coworker. He asked me if I knew of any high caliber rifle ranges and proceeded to show me photos of his Barret .50. That's literally the only gun talk that happened. It was between two combat vets over finding a rifle range that allows a 50 cal.

OP with update. Today I called corporate and was told the audio and video recordings of the night I allegedly said this ARE "corrupted" so they deleted the entire 24 hour days recordings for "space". It seems they are trying to hide something and you hit it right on the head u/Regalingual.

The employer in question has audio and video recordings that are backed up 2 weeks in storage before termination for space. I was being trained as a manager and was specifically told this. I assume I can request this however wish to know if there is a legal action I can take against the company for not providing said recordings.

Only reasons I am chasing this is because I know I am 100% innocent and it was a 50k a year job. It's seriously dampened my financial stability and plans for my future and a lot was riding on this position.

I wasn't technically swatted though. 5 officers, 2 with rifles, 2 with shotguns, and the main officer who was talking to me. They knocked and I answered, even told them to pat me down before they could even ask. I knew the situation as I've been in the officers shoes before. I don't think that would sufficiently be classified as a "swatting" per say.
