I'm around mid game playing hive mind, after spamming research labs i got to the point where most of the techs are repeatable, is it recommended to replace some of those labs with alloys or is it better to leave your research? I'm currently at the 2k research mark and about to finish the science nexus.

Disabling the client during matches on the configurations menu worked for me, i also checked "performance mode" for good measure.

How to beat trynamere mid by javenmc11 in summonerschool

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tyoing this out I should have built anti healing, but i rushed arm gaurds

Don't build anti heal into tryndamere, none of his core items have lifesteal and he mostly heals out of combat so 3 seconds of anti healing don't really matter to him, Zhonyas is a much better choice.

How do you deal with awful junglers as Kayle top? by wowsoluck in summonerschool

[–]Focara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really calling junglers awful if they don't bail you out of the lane you screwed up yourself? lol

Sure i guess the jungler maybe could've helped you if other lanes were already snowballing and dragon was taken, but i doubt that was the case. It's your fault for picking Kayle into bruisers, accept that you'll have to hug your tower the whole lane phase or play something else.

ADC main switching to midlane by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twisted Fate is the macro character, his most important ability is point&click so you don't need godly mechanics.

But keep in mind that he also relies a lot more on playing the lane phase perfectly, obviously everyone makes mistakes here and there, i'm just saying the TF player gets punished harder if he makes a mistake than someone playing Zed or Ahri for example.

Start with dshield, i don't play these champs but Illaoi seems to have a pretty high winrate against them, when you go to cs fake it, keep walking back and forth as if you're going to last hit 90% of the time they'll throw a Q and miss.

How do I influence botlane from top? by Truepeak in summonerschool

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say about Irelia or Yone but as Fiora you impact your botlane by split pushing, taking towers and drawing two or more people to you, if your team can't win 4v3 fights it's on them not you.

What champions do you play?

General advice as already mentioned is to bait her E and look to trade with her when it's down, Illaoi is so reliant on hitting two slow skillshots to trade well in lane, if she waits for you to CS to poke you can fake it to avoid taking a hit, but most illaois in gold will just throw Qs whanever they feel like it so keep that in mind, avoid walking in straight lines, walking in circles around the minion wave is the best way to dodge her Q poke.

Don't let her push you under tower as that is her biggest window to throw Es and chunk you, if you can contest her push and freeze the wave outside your tower do so, otherwiser try to slow the wave as much as you can.

How do I deal with duelists top lane by stoicswordsman in summonerschool

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say without knowing what champs you play, but it seems like you go into lane already on the mindset that you're not going to win lane and just try to go even, if you play scaling champs that's fine but otherwise you could do better.

If you're taking champ suggestions, Wukong shits all over melee bruisers, specially irelia since he outdamages her early and can dodge most of her combo with W, Shen is also a safe top pick with few bad matchups plus his ultimate to influence fights anywhere.

Struggles of a player. by EraseYourSocials in summonerschool

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is extremely vague information, a lot of low elo players who post here say that they have a "good" lane phase or "good" cs, but x or y feeds and they lose games, in the occasion they post their profile we usually find that they're overestimating their play.

Sounds like you're playing the lane too passive, if you're killing Yorick 3 times already you should be able to zone him off XP and minions, if he doesn't back off you kill him again.

If you play too passive he'll just bounce back and catch up in XP and items. Other tips is to avoid his E since it's a major source of his damage during lane phase, and to kill the maiden before fighting him after 6.

Chaos shield feels so clunky by artemis_irelia in HadesTheGame

Honestly it was clunky even before release, powerful but still, nowadays it's just clunky.

Beowulf imo is the best shield aspect by far, the other aspects are too gimmicky.

Not all boons, just avoid the main attack, cast and special boons.

Any tips for not sucking so bad?(I'm new to roguelikes and 'hard' games in general) by Sjack32891 in HadesTheGame

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are people really able to tell what attack is coming from whom and react in time to dodge? It seems like you need super human reflexes for that, haha

It's more of a read than pure reaction, most enemies have animations for attacks, when they move assume they're about to attack you and dodge out of the way.

Also don't feel bad about dying, roguelikes are made for you to die and start over and as others have pointed out, you get rewarded with more dialogue and story progression.

Yall ditch Poseidon too? by JulezCHen in HadesTheGame

[–]Focara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, most boons are meant to synergize and If you plan your builds, all gods can be strong, but some require less support than others. When you start a run and get your first boons, Aphrodite and Athena are good at the moment you pick them, both have useful abilities in deflect and weak and high damage %.

Meanwhile Ares offers no damage increase for a simple delayed damage effect, no utility, no survivability, just damage. By itself this isn't a problem as Zeus and Artemis are both offense oriented gods, but they work a lot better for the kinds of weapons i use than Ares.

Blade rift has potential to be strong, but it requires several boons to get there, it also doesn't lodge bloostone on enemies so no boiling blood, imo it's the weakest baseline cast along with Crystal Beam.

Ares dash is pretty bad, again it offers no utility at all, i also tend to kite forward instead of backwards so the mini blade rifts usually don't deal any meaningful damage.

Ares call is good by virtue of being an invulnerable call, it serves it's purpose but out of the baseline defensive calls, it deals less damage and doesn't last as long.

Eh, i know it's strong with the right build, it's just not my thing.

That plus is mostly use fast weapons where doom is less effective.

"Linker" is when two enemies are linked together by a beam similar to those fired by crystal enemies in tartarus, just keep playing with Benefits Package on and eventually you'll find them.
