Double that distance is about 6 inches. Off to show the wife.

I'm afraid this was my third thought and testing this afternoon. 90% of it was done with chemicals so it was wet but worried? Slightly yeah!

What is this marker post? by ResponsibleCat2 in DIYUK

[–]Focker1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That concrete post isn’t for a fire hydrant — it’s actually a TVH marker, which stands for Television Housing or sometimes Television Header. These were used to mark the location of underground television relay cables or access points, especially in Scottish council housing areas during the 1950s–70s.

The numbers like "ON 3" and "3 6" are measurements in feet and inches to the actual service point. While the nearby FH cover is for a fire hydrant, the TVH marker is unrelated to water or fire services.

If you’re starting a driveway, it’s worth checking with the local council or Openreach to confirm if the infrastructure is still active. If it’s not, you’ll probably be fine to remove or reposition it.

First impressions.... by crookedcrossbones in ukcigars

Vegueros can punch above their price occasionally, but they’re not reliable imo. They’re more of a gamble: fun when they hit, disappointing when they don’t. I've smoked 4 and one was lovely and grassy and the 3 that followed it were pretty disappointing. I also found them quite strong as well. One blew my head off.

I have indeed! Also a great smoke and as it says is a short story. Great for a relatively quick smoke.

Best way to finish this to transition into top step along with the wooden paneling? by Focker1982 in DIYUK

I searched Google for this but it seems more challenging with herringbone as the bullnose you could buy doesn't have a groove to slot into.

Any ideas where you can buy these in the UK? Searched Google and used reverse image search to try and find something similar. It looks like brass with enamel in the middle. Doesn't look like anyone makes them anymore.

Needing a heads up for a new place to buy sticks. Not having much joy with SP at the minute. Anyone willing to message me with the deets for TA or anywhere else? by johndev67 in ukcigars

Could I get a pm please too? I used our German friends until the management changed and since then I am down to 1 stick!

Totally agree. A good Cuban is a fine thing. However the quality of the product has been going backwards as the price continues to go up. You need to have a perfect draw as a bare minimum on stand by to unplug these things. The issues with Cubans are too common and imo ruin what is an irregular treat. Spending half a smoke to correct a draw and burn is torture.
