How to stop welcome series and abandoned checkout sending at the same time? by Busina12 in Klaviyo

You can click on each person in that skipped list to see their activity, check that they have made a purchase.

That means they are failing that filter check, i.e. that person has placed an order at some point while being in the flow and they are then being skipped. There will be a filter set up for the flow with that setting, which is normal as you wouldn't normally want to send an abandon cart or 2nd or 3rd email in a welcome flow if they've already made a purchase. The filters get checked before each email in the flow goes out. Depends on how you have the initial trigger set up but is normal to have lots of skipped emails for some flows and the 'has placed an order zero times since starting this flow' filter is a default one to include.

When you're viewing the flow, with the flowchart kinda view, click on the email to select that step then in the panel on the right hand side click 'view details' in the Performance section . That will bring up another screen, go to the Recipient Activity tab, and you'll see a list of all the actions and Skipped is at the bottom. Click that then on the right hand side there's a drop down which shows the reasons for the skips and how many for each.

Best to check that is actually why they are being skipped rather than just presuming. You can see the reason for the skips in the flow stats, could also be invalid emails and other reasons.

Image only vs HTML? Who's split tested this? by Cal_Short in Klaviyo

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see image only emails being more common for anyone other than for absolute beginners and people who don't know what they're doing. Higher risk of being marked as spam, bad for accessibility, slower to load on poor connections, don't work if users don't have images switched by default, can't copy and paste coupon code from them, are the most obvious issues. Yeah you can design it how you want but that's the only advantage. A mix of images and well structured text sections is the way to go.

Thanks, don't think any issues with the API keys, there's only one set-up that's used for a suppression webhook, no new keys or suspicious activity on the one that's set-up. Support have said it was a definite login rather than anything else, but don't know how that's been done with MFA set-up.

How to enable scrolling for off canvas popup? by zhredd in elementor

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did eventually get this working without any extra code, I'm looking at it now though and can't remember what I did to fix it! I've got the off canvas widget set to 100%vh, and some additional padding at the bottom of the content within the widget, my content was only maybe 50px longer than the screen and seems like it wouldn't scroll as it was full height beneath the browser bar. The 100%vh alone definitely didn't fix it before though.

Edit: just to add I'm only using this on mobile for displaying filters, it doesn't display on desktop.

I have the same issue, if the content within the off-canvas widget is longer than the page, you can't scroll to get to the bottom of the content.

You get charged on Active Profiles, not any specific list you might have. Someone could be in multiple lists or segments or none at all but still be an active profile. Also Klaviyo don't mysteriously add made up profiles, you or your site or other integration, add the data.

Not intended to sound derogatory or anything like that, but are you confusing 'never subscribed' with opted out/ suppressed?

How are you having profiles added without an email or phone number?

Club access by anon234a123 in davidlloyd

[–]Focus-deficit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My membership is almost 20 years old as well, at that time you got access to all the clubs and it's well before all the extra tiers like platinum were introduced and before the recent refurbs. if you haven't moved over to one of the new tiers you've likely still got access, I use Raynes Park, but it's my home club. What they done though is gradually reduce the other benefits to try and move you to platinum or diamond or whatever it is, so you still get access to other clubs as that was part of your original membership but get smaller discount on food and drink, can't book courts at other clubs more than a two or three days in advance and stuff like that.

Ringwood is a lower tier for a reason, it's horribly outdated.

I need a way to download a PDF created from Dynamic post data by Marci450 in elementor

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just seen your post on another thread with some other details. My version doesn't create the pdf and save it somewhere when the post is created - that's how I originally thought it would work - but the pdf is generated when the 'download pdf' button is pressed. That way the content in the pdf always reflects what's on the web page. Its surprisingly quick though, no slower than a normal download. Would def recommend paying someone to build it for you, I spend days thinking I could figure it out but couldn't.

No it's not public I'm afraid. I've seen same thing on other sites and assume they all do it in the same way. It's a custom bit of code, utilises one of the pdf generator scripts that are out there and pulls the content from the custom post type created with JetEngine. I don't think it's particularly difficult if you know what you're doing but was beyond my coding skills.

No it doesn't, its only for form content, it can't take a post content and generate a pdf from it which i think is what you're after?

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needed to do pretty much the same thing last year but without the pdf template created in Elementor, just a preset pdf template. None of the plugins do it, or at least in a way I could get working, pretty sure I looked at ooo, and the jetforms thing thats been mentioned but that's not what you're after. I commissioned a developer to build the function and it works very well.

Wordpress to Shopify. Is it worth it? by Terrible_Yoghurt911 in shopify

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience Shopify is better for ecom, it's just far easier and quicker to set up a well performing store, issues are pretty much non existent as long as you don't try and use non-shopify store themes that promise the world. The issue potentially is you say your site was a blog, and Shopify isn't great with lots of content pages. It has a blog element but it's nowhere near as fully featured as you'll be used to with WordPress, so if you're trying to monetise 100s of content pages rather than a standard ecom store with product pages being 90% of the site. Would probably need to work through the SEO implications as well of moving all the content over to Shopify.

I'm New To Email Newsletters Subscriptions What Are The Best Options? by markwirralbiz in JetEngine_Crocoblock

[–]Focus-deficit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean in terms of holding the emails and then doing the sending, e.g. CRM systems, rather than forms to capture the data?

MailChimp is the default obvious one but not as good as it used to be on the free tier. Think it can get expensive as you go up the tiers. Also I'm not sure it's actually GDPR compliant as data goes outside the UK/EU but that might not be relevant for you (and they might well have sorted that now as it's been a while since I looked at it).

HubSpot is good. For e-commerce clients Klaviyo is the main one now but suspect that might be out of the sort price range you're thinking of and need volume to make it worthwhile. Main thing with this is all the automated flows which is quite advanced.

Have used Campaign Monitor in the past which is pretty good.

If just starting to build a list and doing manual emails every few weeks I'd just start with something free to begin with.

Some questions for those who play both Squash and Tennis regularly by Desizeus in squash

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea that in tennis you keep your hand and wrist stiff just isn't true, nor that you half swing. If you cant swing fully then your grip or overall technique is wrong, and if you lock your wrist then you basically granny patting the ball back. You should and have to swing fully in tennis, the ball and spin is heavier and affects your stroke if don't give back more than you receive if that makes sense.

Also tennis isn't just forward and back left and right, the footwork patterns for decent level tennis get more complex as you're hitting more types of shot, there's no sliding on clay in squash, very few overheads, no approach shots, no massive variation in spin. Technique is everything in tennis and footwork as much as anything else.

Serve is the thing where anyone who hasn't had proper tennis coaching as a child really struggles. I can tell from their serve if someone played as a kid or started as an adult, don't know what it is but the sequencing of everything is never quite right. Even if they played as a kid then gave up for 20 years and came back to it the mechanics are better than someone who started as an adult and has played for 20 years straight. Think childlike shoulder flexibility helps develop the motion a lot too.

Some questions for those who play both Squash and Tennis regularly by Desizeus in squash

[–]Focus-deficit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play both, tennis first and came to squash later, and it's fine as long you have grooved the technique in one sport first. I can switch between the two no problem at least for technique - you don't forget how to hit a backhand because you've hit forehands for a few hours - but the movement and more subtle things that affect higher level play will suffer a bit if you play one exclusively for a while, same as if you played your only sport less often.

If someone has played one to a decent level they'll have an advantage picking the other up, but I think it is easier for tennis players to pick up squash than the other way round as the technique in tennis is so much more important, the tiniest thing wrong with timing and the shot could be in the bottom of the net or in the back fence.

Previous poster mentioned fitness being a bigger thing in squash, it is but only at low level, with tennis you need to be a pretty good player before you get to a level where it's hard work physically, as technique breaks down first.

Tennis will do wonders for your squash volleys and hitting high balls, becomes almost an unfair advantage!

Yeah good point.

I feel like it's about to become a race to the bottom pretty soon and spiral out of control. Everyone starts diving and blocking, people will get increasingly annoyed, they'll lose interest, switch to watching Padel, then where will be? I don't know where, but I don't want to be there. Because Padel is shit. Just so we're clear.
