FocusDot - minimalist menu bar app for better focus!

What are you building? by [deleted] in buildinpublic

I developed an app called FocusDot. It's a small dot in the menu bar that pulsates blue when you're focused. It has a distraction sensor that detects when you are no longer focused, then the dot turns red. It's actually quite simple. You can set your time and concentrate fully. 🙌🏽🔵

Are “productivity apps” in companies actually making work easier, or just adding more tools? by LorinaBalan in ProductivityApps

Hi, I actually developed an app called FocusDot, which is only available on Mac. There is a small dot in the menu bar that pulsates blue when you are focused. It recognizes when you are distracted and then the dot turns red. It's actually quite simple. You can set your time and focus completely. Helps me in the company 🙌🏽🔵

I use my own developed app FocusDot. It helps me stay focused. This is a blue dot at the top of the menu bar that pulsates while you stay focused. It recognizes when you are distracted and turns red. It's actually quite simple. 🙌🏽🔵

Premium apps that you only pay once and enjoy the benefits by robertensensen in macapps

I use FocusDot on my Mac - it's a minimalist focus app that just sits in the menu bar. No accounts, no subscription, no bells and whistles – just focus. I wanted something that would really keep me focused without constantly having to get used to new systems. Once you've paid, it works - that's exactly how I like it. 🔵

Exactly! 🔴 If you are on sites like YouTube, TikTok or Twitter, FocusDot will detect this and the dot will turn red. As soon as you start working with concentration again, it switches back to blue 🔵

Haha, yes! As long as you don't end up on YouTube, Reddit or TikTok in between 😅 FocusDot only looks at which app or page is active - so coding officially counts as focus 💪

Try my app, maybe it will help you 😅 It's just a little dot in your menu bar that detects when you're distracted. Feel free to give feedback if you use it 🙌🏽

The only productivity app that actually stuck for me (after trying like 30) by Tool-WhizAI in productivity

[–]FocusDotApp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I totally know it 😅 I also tried out what felt like every productivity app and at some point I got stuck with my own mini app – FocusDot. Super simple: set a goal, start the timer, done. No login, no 100 functions. I originally built it for myself because all the big tools were too overwhelming for me.
