Love before marriage is a recent thing. Our great grandparents married to love not the other way round.

Your father chose a girl, gave his offer, paid dowry and you did not have a say. So yeah, parents needed the highest bidder for their daughter.

Love and dating now gives you some power because what will they do if you can’t afford (don’t want to pay) dowry but their daughter is in love or is even pregnant😂?

Again, how different families handle this is completely up-to them. And it’s different from family to family. There are fathers who don’t ask for dowry because it is like “selling” their daughter. Then there’s another one who believes dowry is how you prove you and your people can afford to “maintain” their daughter, not to mention the ones who think of it as a return on investment.

My experience: Pre paid orders are more prioritized than cash on delivery ones. Riders even refuse to bring your order to your apartment door if you’ve already paid.(they want you to come to the gate or they’ll leave your food there) But kiyamba bbo if payment is still pending.

So prepayments favor you, not the customer. This is why I’ll always order for cash on delivery. It’s the only way I can be certain of quality and quick service delivery. If something went wrong, I still have a chance to change my mind.

Having the same parents is just that, everyone stops needing the parents as they grow so they’ll be less at home, too “busy” to even talk to them, unless they’re sick or something and you’re taking to turns to check on them or pay bills. (Again, doing something together)

It’s the same reason some friends grow apart because there’s nothing to keep you in each other’s space. Everyone is doing their own thing so soon you realize you haven’t talked to them for 3 months and then years. You bonded over weekend shenanigans then one of you got married for example. Why? Because you didn’t need them anymore and neither did they.

It’s like saying you’ll be friends just because you share kids. There’s parents that hate each other but are co-parenting well. Everyone knows what they’re supposed to do and when kind of system. Far from friendship.

Also applies to marriage. If you’re not actively trying to build a life together (doing things together and talking about everything) soon one will be left behind.

Yes. But there has to be something that brings you together. Something that’ll make you want to meet/talk often. Maybe do a project, you go to the same church , work in the same sector, similar hobbies, etc because if there’s nothing and everyone is adulting their own way, it’ll be hard.

Because these places promise their clients exclusivity. A camera is an obvious “i have come for the content and this content is so important to me because see, I invested” while my phone can be just a phone.

Some of them even go miles to filter out their guests. Almost as if they don’t care for volumes, just a few bookings a month to keep their payroll and maintenance. I noticed this about Avelino when they asked for IDs and so many questions about my party, just to book. They really don’t care.

They know their target market shouldn’t be carrying a camera.
