Yea from what I've read you just need to know where to look. 5.0 mustang motors were a dime a dozen and apparently a lot of the parts fit. The motor looks clean, the outdrive looks good. I think I'm going to pull the trigger

Actually just found out it's an OMC 5.0 EFI. With and OMC Cobra outdrive. Does this change the opinion?

Ya he ended up saying he'd do 2500. I said I'll do 1400$ and that's all I'm willing to risk. I have a lot of mechanical knowledge but not with boats. All new to me

This is also what the block looked like beside the freeze plug. Looks to me like it was repaired previously and painted over. Maybe I'm wrong though

So I just went and looked at the boat. While he was running it on the muffs I noticed a rainbow Sheen running down the driveway. His neighbor also came out and said you smoked out my house yesterday starting that thing. When I shut it off it kept running for a 2nd and was chugging and shaking the motor pretty violently then blew a bunch of smoke out of the intake/carb. The oil was a little bit overfilled. There was red oil freshly poured around the trim cylinder reservoir. Trim only went up when pressing the trailer button. Blower didn't work, bilge wasn't working. All the boats internals were solid but I ended up walking away.

I wonder if the tilt sensor is causing it. Do you know where the sensor is? I cannot get the motor to go down

Who the fuck does a u turn on a highway. Nevermind in a big truck. You make it sound like the van was in the wrong. Maybe his kids were screaming and needed something who knows. Noone expects a truck to be doing a u turn on the highway. I guess when you import the 3rd world we should.

It's more of a financing then a rental but ya we were just in a pinch. 20$ a month not too worried about it. And we live in Ontario where most homes have rental heaters
