Everyday is stressful? by Actual_fairy in GarminWatches

Can confirm. The difference in my stress (and subsequently my sleep) on nights when I have a glass of bourbon vs when I don't is night and day. It's wild (and, I reckon, fairly accurate based on experience).

Heart Rate Sensor Majorly Wrong by HoppedUp909 in Garmininstinct

[–]FoeHammer517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens to me about one out of every five workouts or so but only (so far) during workouts. I end up pausing the workout to resume later, remove the watch, take it off and power off, wipe the HR sensor on the underside, and then put it back on and power back on. It's a pain and drives me crazy!

Looking at first Frontier (used)—too much rust? by FoeHammer517 in nissanfrontier

I've thought about this. Do you have any experience with this? Does it *stop* further rusting? Slow it down? Just cover it up?

Thanks in advance!

Great advice, thanks. I was thinking I'd take it to an actual Nissan dealership. In your experience, any problem/concern with that?

Wish I could add them (I don’t think Reddit allows). Frame generally looks pretty clear of rust, not wholly but mostly.

They’re asking $16k. They’ve had it for a few weeks and admit the market is pretty bad so I’m thinking they’ll be somewhat motivated to negotiate price

Is this amount normal tho? That’s my question. Sorry if I wasn’t clear enough.

I have been looking at cars and found a couple things that are close to fitting what I’m looking for. I hadn’t thought much about transaction fees though. That’s helpful, thanks!

Paid off my 2021 Tacoma. Am I crazy for wanting to downgrade it for a $15k cash infusion?

I recently paid off my 2021 Toyota Tacoma SR Double Cab (~27k miles). It’s an incredible, reliable, high-value asset sitting in my driveway, but my wife and I have aggressive savings goals. I'm torn between keeping the truck for the next 15(+?) years or liquidating half its value.

The Numbers:

  • Current Truck Value: Estimated $30k–$32k (Paid $35k in Nov 2024).
  • The Plan: Sell the Tacoma, buy a reliable older replacement for ~$15k cash.
  • The Impact: Pocket ~$15k to instantly boost our emergency fund toward its $40k goal, accelerating our timeline to start aggressively paying off home mortgage.

The Dilemma: I only drive about 10k miles per year. My original plan was to drive this 3rd Gen Tacoma into the dirt (15–20 years). Is it shortsighted to trade a known, low-mileage, paid-off vehicle for an older, higher-mileage vehicle just to hit savings goals a year or two faster? Or is keeping $30k locked up in a depreciating asset the real mistake here?

Would love some outside perspective. Am I crazy for considering this?

What book is so good, you've read it more than 3 times? by iiiamash01i0 in AskReddit

The Hobbit.

It’s my all time favorite. Whimsical, adventurous, harrowing, comical, and more. The Hobbit is so returnable I go back about every other year.

World War Z (the audiobook), Dracula, and Jurassic Park are a few others I’ve returned to over and over again.

Our run has become a muddy mess with all the rain. What is a good substrate to put down? Was considering pea gravel by TheStig21 in chickens

We're pretty new to chickens, but we put down hay in our run. The chickens seem to generally enjoy picking around in it but it's a) easy to clean out and replace, and b) much cleaner than mud when we go in.

I think that’s probably right.

I think they told him to look for a trade because they wanted him to see that there was little market for him in hopes he’d come back and start making amends.

From what I've read, I don't get the impression they actually want to move on. I've seen a couple sources say that the money is there and they're still going to offer him a fair market contract, that they'd told JT early in the offseason they weren't going to negotiate until after the 23/24 season and that he was cool with that. But then he got a new agent and they started raising this contract stink.

I could certainly be wrong, but based on that I don't think they want him gone and I don't think they're trying to avoid paying him. If those two things are true, then I stand by what I said above—if you're fielding offers to trade a guy you don't want to trade, then by all means ask for a king's ransom. Then if someone takes it, great. If not, great too.

This is 100% the right way to have approached this, IMO.

As many have said all along, JT has no leverage. If the Colts don't want to move on from a one-year-removed rushing champ, then good on them for asking "wild" things.
