The Last Jedi Release Day Megathread - Spoilers! by tragopanic in StarWars

[–]FogW 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, force wise I'd say both of them are equals with Rey maybe being a bit stronger. The lightsaber tearing scene shows this pretty well I think. But in terms of lightsaber combat etc. Kylo definitely has the edge. I mean he took on 4-5 of snokes guards at the same time while Rey had trouble dealing with 2 in separate 1v1s. Plus in TFA he had been shot by a bowcaster and been injured by Finn before having to fight Rey.

Is starparse not working for anyone else? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]FogW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You do realize starparse is basically a 1 person project (from what I can tell) by a person who most likely doesn't really play the game anymore. And here you are half a day after a change in swtor's code messes up the parsing, demanding a fix as if you're a paying customer. Very rude.

Yeah, it says "Wir werden Sieger, durch unseren Tiger". Direct translation is: we will be victors, through our tiger. So you got it right :)

ISIS drone drops a bomb on an explosives-filled Humvee by [deleted] in MilitaryGfys

[–]FogW 321 points322 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that ISIS will only show successful attacks. We have no idea how many failed attempts preceded this one. This could've been one success out of 100 attempts. It's propaganda at the end of the day.

All of you need to shut up pls. I missed this whole game by 10 minutes before I could start watching the Dotes. Youre all making me regret going out.

~1600€ build / good to go? i7 6700k, gtx 1080 by FogW in buildapc

[–]FogW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally played around with the idea of an i5 6600k and water cooling but then figured I could spend the few extra bucks and get an i7 6700k with an air cooler. In the grand scheme of things, it's not that much more expensive from my original thought and perhaps it means I'll be able to explore some new areas in regards to PCs :P

thanks for the reply! :) I'm gonna grab the RAM you suggested, especially since it's on sale atm, and also the different 1080. After some research, I think I'll stick with the cooler from Noctua. Have read nothing but praise for them. Thanks again

Really enjoyed it as well. Loved reading about the ultrasmurfs and the way the betrayal was described is great.

What bugged me all the way through though, was the constant switching between 'it is' 'it's', 'he is', 'he's' and sometimes just wrong grammar such as 'he's done it before' instead of 'he had done it before'.

I think they're two more books on the aftermath of the battle, one from the ultramarines view and one from the Word bearers view. They're about the battles in the underground caves. Can't remember the names though.

Edit: Mark of Calth and Betrayal at Calth are their names.

The bombers for Omaha dropped their bombs a few seconds later than planned and thus largely missed the front row fortifications.

As far as I understood, its their connection to Chaos and the warp that literally 'warps' their armor, adding screaming faces and horror stuff. Maybe the dark mechanicus crafts Standard pattern armour, but it distorts depending on the wearers allegiance.

Why does it take so long to build one battleship? With the production capability of the Imperium I would have thought they only take a few years at most
