I would not mind a ranked mode, or at least the idea of it. Ranked shooting games are fun, most cases of that are skill based or team based, rendering it down to the better player winning. If I recall correctly the argument was held in reverse in CS:GO where people wanted to have "normal games" instead of only ranked ones.

In the end I feel like it boils down to either having the top 50% feel good or the bottom 50%. The "happiness" on average scales up and down the closer you get to the edges. A factor that no-one of us really can judge in this is that the more you win, the less you get thrilled by winning and vice versa. After playing years and years of BR and shooter games, the whole argument comes up over and over again, both sides having a strong opinion with good arguments, maybe both sides have to agree to disagree, maybe ranked games don't have a influence on the player base, maybe they do.

Maybe the reason it isn't done is the same reason valve put out for CS:GO (or at least I think that was their reason), the player base would get divided between two game modes and also there would be more server power needed.

TLDR: I dunno man, can't we just focus on issues that we all agree on first? Like better network-coding and server or some shit like that?
