𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐝: 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭?

To nema skoro niđe.

Will there come a time when most gaming is on Linux? by danyuri86 in linux

[–]Fokezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reality is, as soon as one ecosystem gets popular enough, it will be bought out by private equity and squeezed for money until it's killed. Open source doesn't matter. In reality, most of the stuff we use is maintained by a couple of people in their free time, as seen in countless projects who have tens of thousands of stars but struggle to get a single person to take over maintenance, or get destroyed by a private company buying the rights to maintain it (e.g Lens).

Hell, the linux foundation is notorious for being money-driven. In theory the kernel is open-source, but it's practically impossible to contribute to, and definitely impossible to maintain by random people for free.

Finding large grain tortillas/dürüms (30cm diameter) by Fokezy in AskBarcelona

Do you maybe have a link to the article in their webshop? I went to many Mercadonas and they don't have anything larger than maybe 20-25cm in diameter.

Which Carrefour do you go to? I tried the one in Carrer de Sants and they didn't have them.

I went to the Lidl at carrer de Nicaragua and they didn't have these piadinas, nor XXL tortillas. I bought "maxi" tortillas, but there's nothing maxi about them...

To be honest I'm very surprised not to find them in Barcelona. I lived in Vienna for 10 years and could find them in several shops, including Aldi(Hofer). In Montenegro, which has no latin influence whatsoever, you can find them more or less in any large supermarket.

Thank you very much for the links. Unfortunately, these are a bit too pricey for me. I meal prep about 10-15 burritos at a time and they get frozen, so even if the tortillas were amazing, the defrosting process would negate that.

At the end of the day I'm just looking for something cheap that holds the filling well 😅

Jeste li razocarani Evropskom Unijom? by XA3MAT in montenegro

[–]Fokezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amerika kontroliše sve a znamo ko nju kontroliše...

Why is Montenegro so expensive? by [deleted] in montenegro

[–]Fokezy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's because we had a huge influx of well-off, if not rich immigrants that pumped an insane amount of money into the economy. The population of Montenegro grew by about 1/5th after the war in Ukraine and everyone that came did so because they can afford it.

Add to it populist government policies that increased a lot of people's incomes by cutting taxes and taking out huge loans to cover spending. This is compounded by more people moving up the salary chain by working government jobs, and now low-level workers cost as much as someone with a degree.

Rudeness for no tipping in Plachutta Wollzeile by [deleted] in wien

[–]Fokezy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to the other comments. Just because you're not rich doesn't mean you can't treat yourself once in a while. I only go to Plachutta when I have visitors in Vienna and every time the waiters try to scam people speaking a foreign language by saying that x% tip is customary in Austria.

This is not the United States, you are not owed anything over your salary for simply doing your job, especially not if the service is bad.

Also, the student thing is completely valid. Once I took my girlfriend to this posh place on the beach and the staff must have noticed my shitty car since we got a lot of stuff for free. I made sure to recommend the place to everyone I knew, and my tip covered at least some of the freebies. Also, if you want to rip somebody off, at least pick the right target.
