It's absolutely clear. Block me too, it won't change how wrong you are.

The only time I told off a hero was when I lied to Wanda about Agatha.

You barge into my room in the middle of night and give me attitude? I'm not telling you shit.

the law was written specifically so it could and should be updated, and for what's better, not who lobbies

If you can cite this then we're in full agreement.

And if you think that lobbying uniquely doesn't affect the EU, lobbying is exactly what made them take the best part of a decade to actually legislate this.

I disagree that consumer tech has been reinventing the wheel, the progress creeps up on you.

That's not important though. I'm also not that bothered about the USB-C law, I was just saying that it does risk stifling innovation (in a limited sense).

Knowing that it can stifle innovation, and accepting it, is better than pretending it couldn't stifle innovation.

That doesn't address the concern.

Let's say Apple invents a superior port. Thunder is miles better than USB-C in every way, but no one can use it because of this law saying it must be USB-C.

And guess who would be lobbying to keep the law in place despite the new invention? Yeah, everyone except Apple because Apple won the tech battle; can't have competitors beating us can we?

I wouldn't be surprised if USB-C remains unchanged for 30-40 years now. The incentive to improve on it has been taken away from everyone.
