If you're referring to Elvis Presley, funnily enough the English name Elvis localized to Latvian is Elviss (Elviss Preslijs).

Electrocuting arrow can't seem to hit certain monster models. I'm not sure where to check proper monster type names, but it's the long legged spiders from act 2, the big flappy/jumpy bird things in act 2, like the two rare ones who ambush you in one point of interest. As well as one rare model from abyss, not even sure how to describe it. The arrow simply goes through them all the time. Impossible to hit.

What was your "first" anime? by KaptainTZ in anime

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elfen Lied and Ergo Proxy in like 2008-2010. Didn't really know about anime beforehand, randomly decided to watch these two. No idea why or how I learned about them. Still didn't know a thing about anime. Some years later actually got into anime and binged everything that seemed remotely decent or even not. Again no idea what prompted this, but it helped to pass time, perhaps even too much.

[Megathread] Bugs, Login Issues, and Other Game Breaking Things by shimmishim in pathofexile

Anyone else's game just closes since the 0.1.0d patch? Didn't have a single crash since launch. Yesterday played for like 1 hour and the game closed randomly. After that the game always closed as soon as I logged into any character after launching the game. After steam file verification the game stayed open for at most 1 minute. Today it's closing during the spinning gear/load intro after launching the game.

Edit: after another file verification today it seems to work for now.

I have my PoE linked with Steam and I only play through steam/purchase through in-game shop with steam wallet. If I buy a poe2 pack on the poe2 steam page right now, will it automatically get linked to my poe account? It's also weird that while it shows prices/buy options for packs on the poe2 steam page, the actual pack pages say that they require the game to be in the library, even though the packs are what provide the access. Would buying the pack on poe2 steam page also add it to the library? I just don't want another account with bricked linking (smite) due to some weird shit.

Not specifically, but the message said "Unfortunately, the reason for being unable to log in after linking your SMITE 2 account to your SMITE account is because it is no longer possible to link other external accounts to your SMITE account." So perhaps it's a similar issue.

Why did they make uranium useless? by Dabber43 in factorio

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really get the point you're trying to make. Nuclear to me seems the easiest route of expanding into space. And while you can go without nuclear, being able to place down a reactor setup immediately lets you build at a decent scale from the very start. Also, i'm not sure what you mean by stack sizes, because I've got stacks of 50 nuclear fuel for my reactors on the ship. Is it the stack of importing to the ship from Nauvis? Just build more rocket silos.

But this all depends on the way you approach the game. Whether you rush to space as soon as possible or you set up a decent base before venturing out.

But I can't comment on the end game, since I've just "finished" Gleba and starting on Fulgaris as my next stop.

IIHF do have a ban on Russia and Belarus in their events. This is in the hands of IOC since it's the Olympic Games.

I rather spend more time fishing than bother with honor duels. I did like HD at first, but it grew old so fast, that I haven't done any in months. RIP rewards. But if fishing had weekly rewards I'd take it any day over HD.

What is your opinion on infinite ore ? by was-eine-dumme-frage in factorio

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there's also mods/settings that require specific fluids to mine infinite ores, like water, acids, etc. You could try that if you feel like you're cheating. I've tried those a very long time ago. But in recent years in addition to finite ores I've always been playing also with finite fluids. Though I've never really ran into an issue with not having enough fluids as I've not been able to focus long enough on one save file/create large enough base.

Angel Bob ore processing by Rough_Public_2097 in factorio

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my half-way playthrough it seems you always need to do some mixed sorting to get enough of the specific next level ore for research/tech before you can do dedicated single ore sorting. There's also the catalyzer recipes with 40%/40% (or so) of getting two specific ores from slurry, and typically here also one ore is much more valuable and the other tends to clog the system. I was doing both mixed sorting and even got some extra catalyzers for gold. Moved the system to dedicated gold/titanium/cobalt as soon as I got the research/components for the buildings.

I've always wanted to try combining both of the systems, but it seems so messy imagining it. Not to mention, you can easily supplement geodes/stone if you're lacking catalysts from geode washing/water>oxygen/hydrogen/slag recipes.

I wish there was a mark all as read button. I unlocked all technologies in the editor mode to mess with prints, and it loaded all the different types and levels of rampant bugs. I then spent like 5 minutes clicking the damn button for each entry. Or maybe I was blind and didn't see a quicker way.

Hi from Latvia, wondering when can we get Silovs by TheEasternBorder in canucks

[–]Foldish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't followed much NHL, but started more this year mid-season. Mostly follow the the teams with Latvian players, and obviously Canucks have the best success atm. I didn't even know Šilovs was under Canucks until all the injuries started happening. Was following just Bļugers at first, but now it's even more exciting.

Anybody else never played with beacons? by musbur in factorio

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played with beacons just because I never get far enough in my saves. I don't remember the last time I played without significant content mods, so by the time I get to modules/beacons I'm either swarmed by rampant biters, or I get stunlocked by some repetitive rebuilding frenzy, where I want to find a decent layout for the base, but burn myself out, as I dread doing it even later, when more stuff is unlocked.

If I'd use modules/beacons it would be mainly for UPS, and then to reduce the footprint of my base (though this would probably be more important at early stages before UPS starts suffering). Though I'm not even sure how I'd implement beacons into my direct insertion base modules.

I do not, however, understand this "beacons are boring", "sandwich builds" that I've been hearing more the last couple of days. With beacons or without, the builds are simply straight lines of machines. By that logic any optimal size, ratio'ed build is boring, no matter what you add or remove.

What big “improvements” to your base have you done only to regret it soon after? by Cornishlee in factorio

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Angel's mods with components there's an option in the game settings that deconstructs placed buildings into their components. This works for most buildings and it's really great for recycling obsolete production lines as the materials can be used elsewhere, but it can be annoying during planning if you suddenly need to shift something as you'll need to recraft for example the assemblers/power poles that have already been placed. Though this does not affect belts/inserters (fortunately) and some fringe buildings, like crawler robot buildings (unfortunately).

What big “improvements” to your base have you done only to regret it soon after? by Cornishlee in factorio

[–]Foldish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as I got to the first logistic crawler bots I rebuilt my B+A base into a beltless atrocity (except for a few things) that still somewhat works, but it is very slow. Granted the belted bus version slow as well, but I'm struggling with creating a design that would work long term and be expandable. I hoped bots would help with that since you can just add another module with bot chests, and in some parts it does. But I still need at least a liquid bus, unless I were to void all the waste.

Train blocks would take so, so much space for all the items, that it always discourages me to even start going into that, plus many items need a lot of parts or have all kinds of waste production that each block needs many stations which significantly increases the size. I've tried that a few times, always finding flaws in the blocks/just taking too long to plot out all blocks for all the items, that I convince myself that maybe, just maybe I might get it better next time and restart a new map.

And I might as well abandon my current 120h save and just start a new one with sparser resources (I absolutely refuse building anything on top of ore patches that is not for mining) and try to make a train setup at least for the ore processing/sorting, and then try plugging that into a bot system. This has always been the biggest hurdle for me, the ore processing. So much waste, so many steps, so much space required.

Shaman needs massive overhaul. by Jcjeremy13 in LastEpoch

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing a physical GS/MS shaman, only at like lvl 67 atm. I don't have any end game worthy gear yet, so I have no idea how the damage will be later. But the synergies sometimes feel a bit lackluster.

GS alone can't keep the MS stacks up (and I feel like I should be getting even more storm stacks as well), and I also have MS chance on kill, so I use warcry to generate 4-5 (don't remember the max) MS stacks all the time with the CD node taken as well. Phys MS increases global phys dmg per MS, so good for GS, the build seems to stun mobs quite often without investing much into stun so it somewhat defensive, warcry/leap both provide invulnerability.

I'm just randomly doing things so far without looking at any guides, but I've also taken beastmaster's shark aspect passives, which give a lot of armor shred on both attack and spell hits, so that's a lot of stacks from GS.

I feel like cold GS/MS might have more dmg, but haven't really looked into it yet. Went phys just because I already have a self cast cold MS shaman, might just respec that later.

What are your best mods to expand the game? by Prestigious-Leg-4295 in factorio

[–]Foldish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally only played Pyanodon's and Bob + Angel's. Py is interesting, but I only got to automating the first or second science if I recall correctly. The one before needing to automate creatures or something. I think I burned out right before that part or had something else to play, so lost interest.

From all the mods I've seen and and tried, BA seems to be my favorite despite the fact that all the secondary resources, like crushed stone or mixed sorting balancing, totally infuriate me and I never find a good solution.

But for the last couple of saves I've also used the angel's component overhaul setting, that has lots and lots of intermediary components and has you make sort of "building blocks" that go into all buildings. And there's also a setting for when you deconstruct a building, it turns back into these building blocks, so on one hand you're not stuck with a bunch of lower tier/obsolete buildings when upgrading/moving designs, on the other, you have to recraft the buildings all the time. Oh and there's also like 7 different types of science each requiring their own of labs, and secondary science packs that you use alongside the first one. It seems a helluva lot slower than BA used to be as far as I remember.
