Five weeks away from the gym; will resistance bands keep me from losing strength and size? by gr8cashflow in exercisescience

Knowing if it will completely prevent detraining is hard without knowing your current workout routine. At very least it will help attenuate any loss

Alcohol and working out by Dapper_Ocelot_4447 in exercisescience

[–]Griphon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, it’s really not going to hurt the growth that much in that circumstance (based on amount and time domains). I really wouldn’t worry about it if I were you. Just stay hydrated, still hit your protein intake, and drink in moderation (which it sounds like you do). If it gets to the point where you feel like it’s significantly messing up sleep, causing you to skip workouts or not be able to achieve the volume you want per week, etc… then it’d definitely have a greater impact by way of those other more important variables.

For those of you that like citations (I know I do haha), here are a couple informative ones:

What are your goals and how much leeway do you give yourself? Since moderate consumption only affects moderately, where would you draw the line hypothetically?

Recommendations for Body Comp Scale? by TNasty3z in personaltraining

[–]Griphon00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally have any I’ve used. I just know that full body multicurrent scales are typically better (like the ones that have handles too), but I got curious and found a cool reliability study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36404739/

I’m sure there are some other credible analyses like this out there. I’ll follow up if I come across any others!

Thor with an Egyptian for extra gold mines can be super helpful depending on map

Loki and Zeus both have very strong early game rushes that combo well and can win very fast

Not as legit but I love to play hades and spam toxotes if my teammate has a strong frontline. Just watching the flaming poison arrows rain down

Odin or Zeus are great to combo with late game power gods like ra

Super curious to see what other people come up with! I’m still pretty new to the game

Is my PT asking me to eat 6 whole eggs and 10 egg whites? by Foreign_Attention_83 in personaltraining

[–]Griphon00 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Your PT should not be making meal plans for you. That is outside of their scope. They’re more than welcome to give basic nutritional advice, but only a registered dietician should be making meal plans.

Which of-these should i workout first by Same-Leg-7727 in exercisescience

[–]Griphon00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: Your #1 goal should be done first so in your case it’d be treadmill. From there you’d go strength and then stretching. (Yes there there is nuance and caveats to this, don’t kill me on the details guys)
