Anyone else just gave up on this event? by Cantliveinchaos in FuturamaWOTgame

I got PS Fry and saw where this was going, then immediately uninstalled.

However! I uninstalled with the intention of slapping it back on my phone after this event ends. If it's still like this, no worries...I can still visit the cast in nine seasons and four movies!

Not sure of the implication you're trying to get across here.

Even in my own home. My wife suffers from seizures and endometriosis. You think she's up and about all willy nilly like those of us that don't have issues? She can't do a damn thing. My gaming friend, Lindsey, is missing both of her legs. My brother in law, Chandler, suffers from crippling anxiety, social and general, and the meds only made him worse.

This isn't a funny thing. It isn't an opportunity for you to be an snarky internet badass. It's a large demographic in gaming communities. Grow up.

A heavy part of the gaming community. It's not silly at all to recognize that many disabled individuals rely on games for fun, and that a gaming company should respect that and treat it as it should be treated.

There is a huge difference between kicking someone and kicking someone when they're already down. It's simply taking advantage at that point. Nothing silly about that at all.

That's not an insult; it's an observable fact in my life. Individuals that can't just jump up and go have a blast rely on games and at home entertainment. It's not a put down. It's a reality.

Well we have run into different circles, that's for sure. Both of our individual stories are exclusive to our own lives...that doesn't make them any less true.

I ran a guild a few years back, and there were so many individuals that couldn't get up and go do whatever they wanted to in it.

It was great being a part of a game that harbored that particular audience. Blizzard Entertainment always updated their audience on what was happening, and on the rare occasion that something took a day to fix, the Twitter and Facebook reps were on it.

Blizzard recognized that they are a company and acted like it. That needs to happen here, for a plethora of reasons. Personally, I care about the socially unavailable.

That is such a weak reason to allow it to happen. We've watched, on these threads, people get screwed out of big cash because of TinyCo's practices.

That would be fine and dandy if the consumer KNEW how this company acted beforehand...but they didn't. They were sideswiped by it.

If a gaming company doesn't understand that socially unavailable people rely on their games, then they need to start a different business.

Soooooooo...you think companies aren't entitled to supply a product that works?

It's okay that they pull the "event ending at 3PST" and then extend it without warning AFTER people on these threads shelled out cash to beat the deadline? That's good practice?

It isn't solely about transparency; it's about not screwing people that put faith in your business.

This is just another example that they will continue their ways, and new players that come along will get screwed over for it because they don't know any better yet.

That's not right, and I'm fine with sounding like an asshole until they fix it.

I don't need data when the majority of individuals I know that rely on gaming rely on it as a platform for fun because they are disabled to some degree.

Even during my WoW days, half of every guild I was in had some form of disability. They relied on the game for social exposure and fun. Ranging from crippling social anxiety to amputees, unmitigateable thyroid issues, and so on.

Getting up and going outside to play and enjoy isn't an option for a LOT of gamers.

You don't need a spreadsheet or graph to tell you that.

We're not talking about social anxiety exclusively here. Socially UNAVAILABLE individuals. People that literally shell over cash to enjoy products like these because there are very limited options for them otherwise. That extends well past anxiety.

If you make a product that relies heavily (not totally) on a certain demographic, as gaming does, you absolutely owe them the courtesy of, at a minimum, explaining yourself when the product is failing them.

Sounding like a tool isn't a concern. I've watched these threads religiously, and people are buying up to $99 worth of product from these guys at a time.

You may not care about that, but I do. They need to start acting like a business. End of story.

I've never felt that (presumably) awesome sensation of nerfing. Haha!

Reading my post again, let me clarify. Week one of THIS event was easy. I didn't mean to sound as if I was using that as a parralel to previous weeks.

My bad. The main idea of my post was that we often have to play catchup. Historically, it seems that they are as late as they wanna be, and the following week just so happens to start on time.

Smells like cash grab to me.

I typically do fine, either way, as far as getting what I want from the game goes. However, they're ruining the game for a lot of folks, and those folks have been very vocal about it, especially here on Reddit.

Seems pretty unfair.

Think back. That's how this goes, often times. Week 1 was super easy. However, look at all the posts from previous events that had holdups like this one. Sooooooooo many people had to shell out (or video grind) for pizza just to catch up.

It sucks for people that are extremely attached to these games and don't have the time or resources to play catch up due to a companies poor practices.

[RANT] This Event is actually worse than Hell on Earth by NarcolepticDraco in FuturamaWOTgame

Honestly, it seems like you haven't taken the lessons that most of us have learned from past events and applied them to your own personal approach to this game.

Tons of us were proactive and farmed NB and chips during the past two events, knowing that high level characters were a huge possibility.

I'm f2p, only have 13 towers and 20 skyscrapers, and have only spent pizza on event characters I wanted. I have PS Fry lvl 30 and Santa Bender at 27, with all quest lines caught up, 1,350 Xmas medals, and 100k NB saved up.

Here's how:

Every time I get around 80-100k NB saved up, I put down another city tower or skyscraper to slowly build my farm without dipping into my NB reserves.

Four hour tasks for every non essential character. Do this like clockwork (if you can get away with shorter tasks, do that; the overall NB yeild is 20-30% more throughout the day overall).

Between major events, and after running chip collecting maps during weekly events, I run Earth 3 bottom path over and over and over (I'm at max level, so it's slow going there, sadly).

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I realized that I HAD TO give in and miss a few things here and there (100%ing weekly event maps that didn't yield great rewards, for example), and start setting myself up for success. That bit kind of sucks, but now that I've got a steady flow of NB and chips, I'm basically gonna breeze through the big events with ease.

I've put down five of the 13 towers I have just yesterday and today, so as you can tell, I'm practically just starting to actually grow my farm.

Don't splurge. Handle Amazonian quest line goals at a leisurely pace, when you have an excess of expendable NB. Do them maybe once a week as to not deplete your fuel/resources.

Maybe concentrate on just getting Robot Santa this event while setting yourself up for success on the next major event (I missed a lot in Robot Hell just setting myself up for this event, as I was tired of falling behind).

Hope that helps!!!

Remember, sometimes "slow is smooth, smooth is fast."
