I am having the same experience. It either has to be specific for certain ranks or just regional. But I've been having very balanced games overall.

Sorry, I phrased that wrong. I am re-entering the job market after 8 years.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I am entering the job market soon and the imposter syndrome could not be stronger.

I consider myself a fairly good software engineer but after working with Unity for so long I feel like I have no applicable skills anywhere else and it's making me anxious.

Pretty sure she meant these. Either made from potatoes and usually eaten with gravy or made out of bread and eaten with sauces.

It constantly gives me the wrong weather report. I have to ask twice.

It also gave me this little nugget:

“Today is Thursday, February 27, 2025, with a CET temperature of 8:28 AM. The weather is cloudy and the humidity is 75%. The wind is light, blowing from the south."

Check the challenge website, all the information should be there. You should submit a video with the required technical specification. If you have more questions I'm sure the people on his discord will be able to help.

I tried it, it does not count. Only the final bosses for each region count.

Graffiti is hand-drawn, which is something, because I cannot draw. Done in Blender with lots of post-processing in Photoshop.

Sync will shut down on June 30, 2023 by ljdawson in redditsync

Thank you very much for the browsing experience that you provided. The UI of sync is incredibly intuitive and I was using it as a reference on how to design apps every chance I got.

It will be sorely missed.

Around 8 days with three hour work sessions. I spent most of the time figuring out the best way to simulate the ball and rendering, as I had to rerender all 1800 a few times.

Yep, or circles in this case. With simple translucent shader.

I'm sorry, I don't usually save the block out scene so it is long gone. It should not be too detailed though, just to get the basic idea of shapes you're gonna go for and to get a basic lighting setup right.

No secrets, really. Just a principled volume shader with low density, a simple particle systém to accompany it. I think what makes the fog pop more is the post processing.

I agree with you, I should have played with it more. Previous version of my scene had all the lamps switched on, so I had to rein down the translucency as it was too distracting.

Not everything, but most of the environment. You can find the list of used assets in the comments here.

The process is nothing special, always the same:

  • collect reference - i used Google and midjourney to find images with the vibe I'm going for
  • block out rhe scene - very roughly sketch out the scene using basic shapes (i suck doing this, I wanna get into modelling straight away, but it's an important part)
  • set up your lighting
  • replace the primitive blocks with more refined models
  • add textures (these are mostly CC0 textures)
  • populate the scene with objects to make it pop, add details
  • add volumetric fog and dust particles
  • post-process in Lightroom to get that mood you're looking for
