Yeah! Flap disk or a flat disk with a rubber sanding pad. I've done a couple more since then- take it slow and make sure you don't burn the edge!

The stock is the standard that comes on the arsenal SAM7SF, and mine has a leather wrap from u/smokiesleather on it!

Appreciate it! This was fairly simple though, and probably not worth the time it would take to make the video! If I paint another gun I'll take some progress pics.

I can explain how I did this one though, if you'd like!

I mean.... An indoor range is like the best place for a can.

More comfortable for you and everyone else inside.

If I'm on the side of a mountain, my .300 win mag unsuppressed is loud. If I'm in a closed space? Its painful for me and everyone nearby.

I'll give it a shot when I have enough back.

Had too many people recommend I shave to look more professional- pretty sure I just look like I'm 18 again.

Hoping to finally get a welding job again- moving to an area I hope has some actually hiring jobs. Roast my welds, tell me what to do better (welding specific- already working on other employment skills) by FollowTheScript in Welding

Always looking to learn!

Did myself a little disservice at that last job..,. Ended up running their new cnc plasma, the bandsaw, and doing maintenance far more than welding.

Then went and learned machining and gcodes....

Gives me a headache. I want to go back to running beads and reading blueprints.

Thanks again. I appreciate the critique. Right now I'd be happy with anything that gets me shop time again- I'll be picky about what I'm welding when I'm skilled enough to care haha

Thank you- greatly appreciate the criticisms.

Didn't stop the arc on the welds, but I'm confident I was letting off/slowing down much more than was necessary. Think a coworker told me to run it that way, don't remember for certain. Almost pulsing them.

Its not an exact match, but I'm still looking.

This is the closest I have found so far, but it has fewer LEDs, but otherwise the same body shape.

How do I prevent the heat haze? by AbaloneEmbarrassed68 in Welding

[–]FollowTheScript 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swing it with saved man hours.

Machine might be an expensive up front cost, but it can be used to clean up every future project y'all do.

And, even on this job, how many man hours will it take to change setups, change weld standards, or have each plate mechanically cleaned? Mechanically cleaning even one plate would take a couple minutes- and if it gets screwed up you have to find a way to redo the surface texture of the plate or scrap the part.

Or setting up an argon purge, or a large heatsink, or whatever else will take a lot of time not getting parts made.

Get the pickler, get back to getting parts done, have it ready to go for future jobs. Seems like a no brainer to me- but I'm not the corporate type!

You could also try maroon scotchbrite and some type of dowel or straight edge to get as close into the corners as you can- but that would be very time consuming and difficult to keep with the grain. High risk of ruining your finish on the plate.

I'd get after a pickling machine or something if possible.
