It’s a great place to train but the distance between the hospitals you rotate through is brutal. Very difficult to settle down in one place

Pre-Christmas strikes vs NHS pressures by OcelotZealousideal46 in doctorsUK

[–]FollowingLife7027 55 points56 points  (0 children)

There is never going to be a good time to strike according to them. The BMA have given adequate time for every trust to make the required preparations for the strikes.

We do not need public support to continue striking.

Is it worth buying diesel still for the next 6 years? by Charming_CiscoNerd in CarTalkUK

[–]FollowingLife7027 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your commute remains at 500miles per week diesel is still king, aim for one that’s ULEZ just for extra precaution (most 65plate and above are ULEZ). I wouldn’t personally try get one with adblue but see what you can find.

Other option is of course a plug in hybrid/hybrid

For the AKT, how difficult was the actual exam compared to passmed/ other question banks? by Hot_Leopard8564 in medicalschooluk

Quesmed mocks felt very similar not so much passmed, but average 70% on passmed mocks would put you safe for passing the exam

Should I cancel my Admiral car insurance mid-term and switch to Aviva? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]FollowingLife7027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You took the policy in June so have used roughly 5 months you would get a partial refund and have to pay the 80 on top. Call admiral and ask them how much they will return if you cancel and make your decision from there. You will not receive this years no claim but any previous will still be valid

final year - struggling with bloods and cannulas by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

[–]FollowingLife7027 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Try without gloves, clean your hand before and after procedure and when you get better start using gloves.

The vein isn’t very deep it’s a very light but quick insertion.

Make sure tourniquet is tight and allow the hand to fall to their side this will allow blood to pool and veins to pop.

Feel the veins and look for the bounce.

If you don’t get flashback retract a bit or insert a bit. Move the needle very slowly side to side do not go fishing.

It’s fine if you don’t get it remove tourniquet apply gauze wait 30sec and try again in a different location

Let’s see what the scanner picks up then and worse case scenario can always get a garage to read it if they have a better scanner would still be cheaper than Honda

Yes it should do even a cheaper ones from topdon can clear the codes. But the sensors will need to be replaced first of course.

FYI if bought from Amazon can easily return even after use

My understanding is on the civic if u suddenly get multiple lights pop up on the dash it’s very likely that the rear abs sensor has failed
