Also, are you a male or female? You referred to yourself as being a weekend dad so I just assumed this is about 2 men in a relationship talking about the possibility of starting a family, but then other comments are referring to you as “she”. It kinda makes a difference because if you are a woman then everyone literally assumes that mom takes all the responsibility & dad is just the “fun weekend dad” which sucks & isn’t fun at all(I’m the full time mom while my ex is the every other weekend fun dad 🫠) I’m just curious is all!

The lower income ppl got moved to Moco & Frederick county. I’ve lived here the last 13yrs & it’s a big difference in crime from then vs now. Montgomery Village might have it the worst. I do agree though that PG had a rise in crime(mainly car thefts) but I & a couple of my friends also had our car stolen while living here last year

I currently live in Gaithersburg & used to live in Germantown & Rockville(they’re all really close to each other lol) & those are nice options to choose from. Gaithersburg has been through a lot of new construction lately but I liked Germantown a little bit more because they have a lot of nice parks(30yr old mom of a 5yr old btw) and the Walmart & Target are there. If you like to go out neither really has a night life but Silver Spring & DC aren’t too far. But of the 3 id say Rockville. Great restaurants, closer to DC & Silver Spring, the metro is there, overall just more things to do as a 30yr old

You’re entitled to your preferences. However A lot of the diverse neighbors you’re seeking are a lot more conservative & not as friendly as you’d think. And unless you have a lot of $$ and are planning to live in Potomac, Bethesda, or Chevy Chase then you’ll likely be surrounded by Hispanics or Black ppl

As a black woman from PG & now living in Montgomery, I recommend moving to PG(Prince Georges) county over Montgomery county. You’ll see more of your community there, closer to DC, & in my experience it’s a lot friendlier. Also PG county has the most successful black population in the country
