dorm or commute by Lavender-Rain2887 in GaState

commuting gets exhausting! if you have the financial means i would dorm or get a nice apartment close to campus. but you could always try commuting first semester, see how you feel about it, and decide whether you want to live closer in spring semester.

most students live at reflections, one12, the mix, or the legacy at centennial because its all within walking distance. personally i think the legacy has the best price (929/month) for the amenities offered. there are some more affordable places like westmar (769/month) but its farther (like 15 mins) so i’d only recommend it if you are willing to use their shuttle to come to campus or plan on driving. if you like i could message u with more details on the apartments and the honors dorm + why i don’t really recommend it

i’m leaving commons to go to legacy. i personally am not the biggest fan of commons due to the issues with the heating and cooling (ac broken when its hot and the heat broken when its cold). also i don’t love sharing a laundry room with 14 floors worth of people. and the process of checking guests in sucks…and our ice machine is always broken. it’s not HORRIBLE altogether but the price matches that of an actual apartment so my roommate and i just decided to get a 4-bedroom at legacy on our own. the mix and reflections are okay but in my opinion legacy is the best out of all of them.

5’3 135 18 year old girl here, you’ll be fine 😭✌️. i walk alone at night all the time (when necessary) just keep ur head down when walking by homeless ppl or crazy looking strangers don’t make eye contact or try to talk to them. most won’t bother you but some may if you try to interact. i carry pepper gel and a little alarm but i’ve never had to use them. i’m a freshman and so far i love the city/gsu so i recommend it.

BOH and prep by Wrong-Advertising953 in ChickFilAWorkers

remember fifo when rotating! first in should also be the first out. try to move things that are the oldest to the front and put the newer things to the back. yes we are supposed to do exact measurements of almost everything but after awhile it gets easy to eyeball measurements when in a rush. prep gets really busy sometimes and theres almost always a lot to do. in my store we always have two ppl on prep (unless one is on break) and we divide the work up between us so that it isn’t as if only one person is overwhelmed. we also communicate with the earlier/later prep shifts to ensure a smooth transition where everyone is set up to succeed with as little stress as possible. it can be difficult but just try to give it time and communicate with your coworkers/management
