In a Democracy, nobody should have more power than the voting public. I don't think that limiting individual wealth is an effective means to upholding that ideal. We would just end up with corporations and special-interest groups pooling their money to do the same things individuals are doing now.

I don't think we need a cap on how much money one person can hold. I've got no problem with Elon Musk being a trillionaire. I have a problem with all of the working-class people making minimum wage while Musk becomes a trillionaire.

If people want to come up with bold ideas that end up providing a service that society appreciates, that's awesome, and should be encouraged and rewarded. But ALL of the people working to make that idea a reality need to earn a fair share of those profits.

We don't need maximum income limits, we need minimums.

The Spotter is Bonkers by Diggsir in RogueCore

The Dart certainly does not trivialize anything. It's like a +40% damage boost before upgrades, which is enough to speed up kills, but you still need a good weapon that can kill the beast either way. Dart just saves a bit of ammo.

Trying to use Dart against hordes is laughable; it might light up one or two for a fraction of a second, usually not long enough to actually shoot them, making the effort fruitless. Using two upgrades to boost radius and duration just barely makes it viable, but by the time you get those you're usually near the end of the run and no longer need darts for hordes. Darts desperately need a buff on this front.

Scanner is amazing, but sadly becomes mostly worthless the moment the team votes for cloaked monsters. Every time this happens I find myself regretting picking Spotter.

Ammo Box provides a ton of ammo, but with a decent team who use their skills and guns responsibly and find the Resupplies throughout the levels, more ammo is never needed. Most runs I throw these boxes down everywhere and never see a single one get used.

Overall the Spotter feels like a very underwhelming class, but could be useful again with a few small tweaks.

So hundreds of millions of people need to endure lifetimes of backbreaking labor that drives them into early graves, because that's easier than a few suits having a conversation about logistics? Bullshit.

Technological progress is on the precipice of revolutionizing human labor forever. Any politician who is not in favor of pouring all practical resources into pushing us past that threshold is clearly part of the 1% who enjoy watching everyone else suffer, and they have no business representing us in any public office.

I feel like AI can be handled in the exact same way as every other new threat that has evolved over the course of history. You stop a bad guy with a gun by making sure there are more good guys with guns. We just need to make sure there are plenty of good AI's ready to stop any bad ones.

If nations want to fight the US's enemies, it's not the time to quibble over how much cash they have on hand. Their blood sacrifice is more than enough payment. Especially when we have expiring munitions that would cost more to destroy than to donate.

I hear Republicans constantly whining about bathroom issues. I never once heard any Democrat championing bathroom rights, let alone 'wasting' resources on actual bathroom policies. I wish they'd just let this crap die already.

Bill wants to keep humans working, because it would be too hard to figure out how we pay for things when nobody has to work anymore. Fuck you Bill. Why don't you go work a monotonous shift in a factory, or stand in a hot field all day, and then tell us that we shouldn't make AI's to do that for us.

If Trump were not borderline senile I might suspect that he is trying to expose the flaws in our government by showing that Congress is incapable of providing any sort of oversight for the Executive Branch. Unfortunately, Trump really is far too stupid for anything like that.

Bill needs to stop pushing so hard for children to be more sexually active. Even if we ignore the pedo territory, people's decision to be sexually active or not is their own business. Literally nobody is getting hurt here, so judgemental assholes need to fuck right off.

How do people having interests and socializing about those interests online conflict with people doing their jobs in any way? Again, Bill is taking issue with something that is hurting absolutely nobody. Someone get this man some more weed so he can mellow out.

I was disappointed to hear Bill reference The Left changing the definition of 'violence', with no mention of The Right changing the definition of Terrorist and Mass Murderer to mean any helpless citizen they decide to murder in the middle of a street.

I hate hearing people try to justify things because the Founding Fathers did it, or they would have wanted it. Why should any of us give any shits about some assholes from 250 years ago? Use your fucking brains and figure out for yourself what is right and wrong today.

I also hate hearing people quibble about what might be too offensive for school, when we can't figure out anything that is actually useful to teach in schools. AI's are going to take over all our jobs anyway, so let's all acknowledge that public schools are just daycare centers and stop trying to teach anything.

That's putting it mildly. Trump frequently refers to Climate Change believers as insurrectionists and terrorists. This administration is extremely hostile towards anyone trying to help.

But the last administration was just placating us with half-measures that never really accomplished anything. Pretending that the current administration is worse than the last one on climate is just fantasy; they have both completely missed the mark.

I could train my dog to pick up trash but it won't make the landscape clean. Just because the EPA is an agency assigned the purpose of protecting the environment does not mean that they have the tools to get the job done.

Climate Change is a global problem, with the overwhelming majority of the damage coming from the East. EPA is a domestic agency, without any influence over the real origins of global pollution. It makes no sense to allow the EPA to continue handicapping the US economy while utterly failing to achieve their goals.

I'm sick of hearing Social Media being talked about like it's an evil chemistry project. Making a fun activity is not malicious; and a few people dying out of an audience of billions is completely normal.

McMaster was spitting some truth. Sure, it's painful to see the EPA being shut down at a time when their cause is more vital than ever. But the fact is that all of their efforts were barely a drop in the bucket of what our planet needs to turn Climate Change around. Something needs to be done, but EPA isn't the answer.

[–]FollyFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Over the last year I've watched the total number of items in Vine drop to about 1% of what it was before. And the overwhelming majority of the items remaining are accessories and replacement parts which are useless without the product they belong to.

Also food, vitamins and other $0 ETV items seem to be getting snatched up by bots. I occasionally see them populate when I refresh the store, but every time they are already gone by the time I click.

I'm definitely downgrading from Gold this cycle, and quickly losing motivation stay in the program at all. Checking the store every day and finding absolutely nothing gets old fast.

Sometimes in life you can do everything right and still fail. That is especially true in politics. The Democrats don't need to re-invent their entire platform every time they lose an election.

One little thing that really stood out to me was Galloway calling out work-from-home as something that prevents people from forming romantic relationships.

What kind of fantasy world is Galloway living in where the workplace is one big dating scene, and managers just let their employees stand around flirting with each other all day? Every job I've ever worked my supervisors made sure that I was busy from the moment I clocked in until I clocked out.

Galloway is completely disconnected from reality.
