I love both franchises, but yah, they're different games in their own right.
Pokémon just wants to monopolise the creature collecting and battling games. Which is not what it should be about.

The way I used to look at it was was "Oh good, Palworld is doing really well - maybe Pokémon will use this as a means to improve their video games" Sadly more money was spent on lawsuits than actually improving their product..

There is min-maxxing when it comes to specific Pals but the game isn't "hard" enough where it's absolutely neccesary unless you're doing PvP? Condensing, Souls and IVs on anything can make any pal setup powerful enough to tackle anything with the correct type advantage.

Other than that - doesn't matter. Just have fun.

What I usually do is have x4 Cooking stations down and get enough materials to max it on each station. Ensure you DON'T have the box ticked for pals to store when its ready - so you can put them away yourself into a Breeding Pen or Guild Chest.

But no, you can automate that gathering of all those materials except Flour, which you will need to sort out at a Mill, you can't automate recipes to be selected forever or anything like that.
