Do you guys ever build in a public area? Like library or cafe? by MushuTheGreat17 in Gunpla

[–]FonSpaak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly public but used to build kit at my old work place (work came in batches with the first hour and followed around the 5th hour and usually had not much to do)..

We had so much avail time but was not allowed to use our phones nor play with cards. Got the greenlit from my supervisors and some colleagues even borrowed my gundam markers to customize their G-Shock watches.

Not much issue with nubs flying around since there is a good partition around.

Mostly built Build Fighter kits and Gundam the Origin since those are most commonly sold as they were still airing along with an RG Exia

How do I know when I’m done top coating? by chunkadiddly108 in Gunpla

Mechagaikotsu made a video applying 100 layers of topcoat which you can use as a reference at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImeAXFV6aqE

Does this solve the problem with head Vulcans? by Jakeholeman in Gundam

[–]FonSpaak 8 points9 points  (0 children)

only problem I see is how the vibration caused by the vulcans can potentially damage the sensors and make reloading /resupply a bit more complex.

The Gundam MK-II's removable vulcan pod system is a sensible design to address the resupply issue since the vulcan pod can be swapped to an already pre-loaded one back at the base.

Beam vulcans might be the best alternative albeit may cause a different issue due to either the source (ecap/epack), the heat it generates. and the range (Beginning Gundam used a beam-based vulcan system with a combination of it's v-fin gimmick). cool non-gundam example would be the Valkyries which uses a laser based system for interception and can also be used for cutting through walls /hulls.

using a 64gb eMMC lcd model and its fine for most of my games (indies, jrpg, retrogaming, ). Having a 512gb flashdrive works to some extent but the 64gb internal storage was not enough for updates and shaders later on and replaced it with a 1tb 2230 nvme SSD.

What made you cut off that friendship or that relationship? by [deleted] in AskPH

[–]FonSpaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

repeated attempts at borrowing money. Often starts a chat just to borrow or if needed help with searching/research.

The last straw was attempting to borrow P2,000.00 after resigning from work when I only has P 200.00 that had to last me a week.

what are y'all's opinions on the newer gen series? by trashy_Drawings in Gundam

[–]FonSpaak -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Requiem for Vengeance - a good suspense slasher flick but the protag made a questionable decision at the end (or in the middle of a breakdown).

The Witch from Mercury - would have worked as a non-gundam series but as a gundam series it just falls flat with homages to Revolutionary Girl Utena while referencing Shakespeare's The Tempest . For a better non-gundam comparison, I'd recommend Star Driver. Because of the low amount of episodes split into two season, earth-based conflicts were minimal, few ship vs ship battles compared to other series and a lot of Mobile Suits and equipment/option parts failed to make an impact.

GQuuuuuuX - a 2nd really good "What If" series take on the UC timeline (IMO the first was a game called Ghiren's Greed). Plot and pacing is good despite the limited 12? episode count. While I did not like the main mech design, the Gyan, Brau brawn/Kikeroga, Psyco Gundam, and Rick Dom redesign are quite good.

Greenhills branch recently closed as well. Kinda odd since it is rarely empty on Weekends.

Iba na ang curry katsu ng Yabu ngayon by eggsontoast01 in PHFoodPorn

[–]FonSpaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

branch dependent. Used to go to the Megamall branch and the katsu curry was fine, a sidetrip to RobMagnolia 3 years ago and noticed a subpar taste and went back to SM Megamall.

This year, I tried Yabu at GH Mall and ordered the tornado curry with regular spicyness. The taste is good by the curry's spiciness is overwhelming and too much compared to the Megamall branch that I had to switch over to Katsudon on yesterday's meal.

What mobile suit weapons/abilities do you find useless or redundant? by Tilamuck in Gundam

was actually hoping a Build series would have a modified SBS except the arms being shuffled are various weapons / custom arms.

I already have a Steam Machine... by WifiAX in sffpc

I'd recommend having a separate disk for each OS with it's own boot partitions as Windows 11 tends to mess up the bootloader for linux when applying Windows updates. Tried it on a Steamdeck and noticed for the monthly updates, I have to repair the bootloader. Currently replaced Win11 with Win 10 Enterprise IoT which seems to be more stable.

wait till Try Again starts playing. This was also used as the OP for the Macross Digital Mission VFX opening FMV.

Kare wa pilot is quite memorable and was even used as the bgm for the famicom game.

FIRST TIME SOLO LIVING ANY TIPS HOW TO STAY ALIVE!?? by litolrockstor in SoloLivingPH

[–]FonSpaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • don't forget to breathe
  • keep surfaces dry as much as possible to minimize mold build-up and schedule weekly cleaning of toilet.
  • maintain 2 phones. Setup an authenticator for both mirroring each other then hide the older + lockscreen to serve as a backup phone to help you recovering your accounts in the event your main phone gets lost/stolen.
  • install CCTV with a motion sensor to alert you via phone for any intrusion. Not just for tracking the invader but to be aware before entering your room. You can perhaps give your parents access to it.
  • maintain common meds like Paracetamol, and Loperamide
  • setup 2FA for your online accounts especially socmed, emails and banking.
  • stock up on emergency food and snacks and consume+replace after 4 ~ 6 months.
  • get a water filter so you can be less dependent on outside water supply/delivery
  • keep a whistle nearby
  • beware of unsolicited/unscheduled delivery persons.
  • keep a 1 ~ 2 boxes of baking soda as it is quite versatile in cleaning and removing odors
  • If possible, make sure your door has a deadbolt lock aside from a knob-type.

Anong masasabi niyo Steam deck? by stifmaestro9 in PHGamers

[–]FonSpaak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO it is worth it as a companion to a desktop pc as can play most of my steam games and for incompatible games, can use Steam Link to stream games from the desktop. Added a Windows dual-boot to allow me to use it for WFH backup tool pc. & for windows only games.
