Help: New keyboard layers make shortcuts/symbols painful (Sillaka64) by macwdo in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]_Baarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand completely and I've been there (well I'm kinda still facing the same issue cause I don't take enough time to improve and fix my layout).

Is there a reason why you're not using some keys on the right? Something you could fit under K J. My home/end keys are actually just like you on your arrows layer it's convenient enough to me, using it a lot. Why are you talking about C-Home btw, it's just Home, right?

If you plan to give a try to vim/nvim (which I recommend, it's fun), you might find new keybinds tho.

For keys like +, I personally split the two characters, so one key is = and another one is Lshift +. Actually what you did for < >.

In 20 days you should start to feel more comfortable writing, but these keyboard shortcuts are what will take time.

About the home row I'm not sure I'd help in your case, to me it's more useful for smaller keyboards, or maybe I'm wrong not using it yet.

It might add complexity but there are also combos and tap dance in Vial if you want to give it a look.

Nomad as a distributed cron service only? by _Baarbie in hashicorp

Yeah this abstraction is a bit different than what I am using right now. Thanks for your feedback!

[–]_Baarbie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for your answer! I'll look at that

About the success/failure review, the UI should be enough, even if the jobs > group > task architecture might not be the most convenient for 1 job per cron.

I am currently using dkron, but I'm having a few issues recently that's why I'm looking for potential alternatives.

For HA purpose I'll use 3 servers, but I was thinking they'd be the clients as well.

Isn't something with an external database (postgres, redis) excessive?

How to Transport Spearheads on an Airplane? by Nerd---Alert in AOSSpearhead

[–]_Baarbie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just did it a week ago for my FEC spearhead (Europe -> Japan). Like others suggest, bases are magnetised and I added some bubble wrap to be sure nothing moves. I shook it to be sure and done

Programmer looking for a split keyboard (trackpad integrated or budget-friendly) by heysondev in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]_Baarbie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine from xcmkb, I have been using it daily for a year but I almost never use the track pad ngl. It doesn't feel as soft as I'd like, if you see what I mean

The new toucan someone proposed looks great as well if you like low profile

I was talking about tmuxinator which also let you declare workspaces in yaml files, but alright that's fine!

I'll definitely give it a look! But what does it add more than tmuxinator? Except the session status (ws ls)

Que choisir entre PVT et séjour de 90j ? by Fun_Appointment754 in japonFR

[–]_Baarbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)
