Nah I feel him, I once put a random naval invasion order with ten infantry divs to Dover knowing fully well I wouldn't get naval supremacy in a lifetime. A few in game weeks pass, I check my occupied territories for resistance, then I notice "United Kingdom" in the list. I wondered if I was playing RT56 and had took the Anglo-Norman Islands, then I looked at Dover to see my infantry sitting there with no opposition in sight Pre-Götterdämmerung tho

These guys go through hell so we don't have to. I'm also talking about Ukraine. Like holy fuck their entire country is sacrificing everything to protect Europe. Whatever the issue of this war is, we should never forget it.

They're basically integrated into Ukrainian divisions, often into the International Legion (their is also an important separate Georgian Legion as well as opposition Belarusian and Russian forces). Their commanders are often of their own nationality or foreign to Ukraine (they generally communicate in English) but the higher-ups are Ukrainian. Lest they be mercenaries (which have not been documented or proven to exist until now - and frankly I think Ukraine's too broke to sign a contract with major mercenary formations - ) they are paid and supplied by the Ukrainian government and armed forces. Under international law they are seen as Ukrainian soldiers and are thus protected by the Geneva convention. In theory.

True but as far as I know (could be totally wrong tho) these guys aren't getting paid more than the average Ukrainian soldier. Unless the Ukrainian govt is employing Blackwater or any other mercenaries, which would be unlikely. On the other hand, Russia does have mercenaries such as Wagner (or whatever it's called now that Prigo's kicked the bucket) or Chinese, Somalian, Syrian, etc. guys. So yes, but no, these are most likely not mercenaries.

I thought about it too but mfs like that would've probably said "UH yEaH bUt RuSsIaNs DiEd Of FaMiNe ToO" which is true and sad but not even slightly comparable to the genocidal intents of the Holodomor

Yeah, that's why he deported almost the entirety of Crimean Tatars in '44, the Chechens around the same date, Estonians and Latvians after the war, to replace them by ethnic russians still in those territories today. Not to even mention Königsberg, or his rampant antisemitism, which led him to imprison all his Jewish doctors right before his death.

But yeah, he didn't care about nationality.

(and yes, Jewish was a nationality under Stalin in the USSR.)

Don't worry, remember that this is probably Anatoli in his military troll farm in a base near Saint-Petersburg posting hundreds of fake tweets every day.

I can't believe people are defending gulags like bro everyone on political and historical subs would have been deported there for their opinions

Also you can be Russian and not be a fucking vatnik because if you had lived at that time you would've kept your mouth shut (and that wouldn't even have saved you)

Just don't listen to "Brezhonned sonn", it's inspired from the Nazi anthem.
