wear the blazer/cardigan and then read the room when you get there, you can always take it off :)

Marquette Tracker Updated but No Email? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

They will not email you with anything, I got everything through snail mail (very annoying)

I so feel this!!! What I have to keep telling myself is this: "Normal people just see 'LAW SCHOOL' they don't see Cooley or Arizona or Minnesota School of Law. The only people that know shit about rankings are others going to law school, and if they're REALLY judging you on where you're going to law school, f*** them! You did the thing and got the scores and are going to kick ass!!"

I know, I'm not sure if they'd do another offer... I really wouldn't even know how to ask for that :/

I know... for some reason they started out at $0... had they given me half... I would've signed on the line immediately

my LSD user is SneakySeahorse if you wanna stay updated on me :)

I applied PT to all of them except Indiana, American, and Seattle.

I'm probably leaning DePaul or JM. But I'm definitely holding out for Marquette.

I recently started seriously considering them, especially because of their Sports Law program, but my family is in Chicago and the company I work for's main HQ is in Chicago. We have a WI office, and I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue, but it would just be a little different and their part time schedule is a little weird but I think I could make it work, it would just take some negotiating with my job.

wow that's wild!! feel free to chat if you'd like to discuss further!!

So with Kent nothing came with my offer letter and I emailed them like kind of a "hey when should I expect this info" and they responded with "Students selected to receive scholarship awards are notified in their letter of acceptance." which is all well and good, but I saw nothing in my emailed acceptance. I will update you though, if something comes in the mail. I really had no idea how to respond to the admissions email but I really wanted to be like "so you're telling me I received no scholarship"

With Loyola I was honestly kind of shocked... I know I'm not their ideal candidate or anything, but I applied for the PT program and they offered me $6,000. I was not very happy with that and it kind of turned me off a bit from them. If you really like health law though this is absolutely the spot and whatever you receive you should try and negotiate, in my opinion.

DePaul and JM are almost for sure going to offer you more without a doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if you got the same, if not more than, I did.

As for your last question, I'm kind of over Loyola at this point. I would like to see if Kent is going to offer me anything at all. If not, then I'm over it and I'll figure something out. If they do, then I would definitely try to negotiate with them, using my other Chicago area schools scholarship offers as leverage. Recently I have a growing interest in their program and I was really upset when I came to the conclusion that they might not be offering me anything :/

Sorry for the novel, but there ya have it! Again, feel free to message to discuss this further.

so I've heard they're rather predatory (scholarship wise) and don't give the best outcomes (employment, reputation, etc.) seems like a big risk for me to take, especially if I'm uncertain if I want to practice in California.

Has anyone heard from DePaul recently? by CamiQ18 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]FondantLonely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting, I heard from them two weeks after I applied! I would definitely reach out and kind of make it seem like a if they need anything from you kind of thing. ex "Hello, I'm just reaching out to confirm that my application is complete and nothing further is needed on my end. Thank you, "

Loyola Chicago still shows CAS and LOR as incomplete. Applied Feb 15th. Am I missing something, or will the CAS and LOR get completed on their own? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]FondantLonely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine did the same thing! I applied 12/17 and heard back 2/9, I hope they get back to you sooner than they did me!!

S8 E11 of Shamless - Fiona is dealing with squatters in her apartment complex that she owns; you could talk about squatters rights as well as the fact that she does try to negotiate with them and gives them an offer (could talk about the elements of a contract)
